THE BIG HEAVY WORLD FOUNDATION WILL ADDRESS PANDEMIC IMPACTS ON ITS MUSIC COMMUNITY BY REVITALIZING INTEREST AND PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL CULTURAL HERITAGE. THE FOUNDATION WILL EXPAND ACCESS TO THE COLLECTION OF ITS VERMONT MUSIC MUSEUM, SHOWCASING THE STATE'S DIVERSE MUSIC HERITAGE AND BRING ITS ARTIFACTS, EXHIBITS, AND MUSIC ARCHIVE CATALOGUE ONLINE, PROVIDING ACCESS TO AUDIENCES IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND BEYOND. THE MUSEUM ALSO WILL INCREASE ON-SITE DOCENT AND VOLUNTEER HOURS, EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MUSEUM'S RESEARCH, PRESERVATION, DEVELOPMENT, AND OUTREACH WORK. THE MUSEUM WILL EXPAND COMMUNITY INTERNET ACCESS THROUGH A WORKSTATION AND PUBLIC HOT SPOT TO SUPPORT NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR RESIDENTS TO INTERACT WITH ARTISTS IN EDUCATIONAL AND REAL-TIME COLLABORATIVE PERFORMANCE EVENTS.
