THE GRANT PROGRAM IS ADMINISTERED BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE (NPS) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS (NEA), THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES (NEH), AND THE INSTITUTE OF MUSEUM AND LIBRARY SERVICES (IMLS). THE DEMOCRACY PROJECT: COMPLETING AN EDUCATION AND COLLECTIONS INITIATIVE [THE NEW HAMPSHIRE HISTORICAL SOCIETY SEEKS FUNDS TO COMPLETE THE FINAL PHASE OF A SOCIAL STUDIES PROJECT THAT HAS BEEN DELAYED BY THE PANDEMIC AND RESTORE A LOST STAFF POSITION. ?MOOSE ON THE LOOSE? IS AN ONLINE RESOURCE DESIGNED FOR UPPER ELEMENTARY STUDENTS TO INSTRUCT THEM IN HISTORY, CIVICS, GEOGRAPHY, AND ECONOMICS. THE PROJECT ALIGNS CLOSELY WITH THE NEH?S ?A MORE PERFECT UNION? INITIATIVE, INTRODUCING KIDS TO FOUNDATIONAL IDEAS OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY AND THE UNIFYING CONCEPTS THAT SHAPE THE AMERICAN CHARACTER, WHILE CELEBRATING THE DIFFERENCES THAT WEAVE THROUGHOUT OUR COMPLEX SOCIETY.] [PURPOSE: THE COMPLETION OF A VIRTUAL SOCIAL STUDIES PROJECT FOR UPPER ELEMENTARY STUDENTS. THE CONTENT OF THE ONLINE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE STATE HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, CIVICS, AND ECONOMICS OF NEW HAMPSHIRE AND AMERICA AS A WHOLE.  ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: FINISHING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A STATE-WIDE WEBSITE RESOURCE THAT PROVIDES INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS AND LESSON PLANS COVERING MULTIPLE EDUCATIONAL TOPICS. ADDITIONALLY, THE CREATION OF 8 VIRTUAL ?FIELD TRIPS? TO HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL SITES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, ACCESSIBLE VIA THE WEBSITE.   EXPECTED OUTCOMES: A FREELY ACCESSIBLE WEBSITE INTENDED FOR UPPER ELEMENTARY STUDENTS THAT CONTAINS EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS SUCH AS ARCHIVAL MATERIALS, WORKSHEETS, EXPLAINER VIDEOS, AND GAMES.  INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: UPPER ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WITHIN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND THEIR EDUCATORS.  SUBAWARDS:  THIS PROJECT DOES NOT INTEND TO ISSUE ANY SUBAWARDS. ]
