THE GRISWOLD ISLAND AND CLARKS LANDING PROPERTIES, TOTALING OVER 8 ACRES ALONG THE AMMONOOSUC RIVER IN NORTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE, WILL BE PERMANENTLY CONSERVED BY THE AMMONOOSUC CONSERVATION TRUST (ACT) THROUGH LAND DONATIONS THAT ARE SUPPORTED BY NATURAL RESOURCE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT AND RESTORATION (NRDAR) SETTLEMENT FUNDS. BOTH PROPERTIES LIE ENTIRELY WITHIN THE WOODSVILLE WATER LIGHT HYDROLOGIC AREA OF CONCERN (HAC), PLAYING A VITAL ROLE IN PROVIDING HABITAT FOR MIGRATORY BIRDS AND SUPPORTING SHORELINE INTEGRITY, WATER QUALITY, AND FLOODPLAIN FUNCTION. NRDAR FUNDING WILL SUPPORT ACT S LEGAL, STEWARDSHIP, AND PLANNING COSTS, AS WELL AS THE DEVELOPMENT OF MANAGEMENT PLANS FOR BOTH PROPERTIES. PLANS WILL ADDRESS INVASIVE SPECIES CONTROL, SHORELINE RESTORATION, SUSTAINABLE PEDESTRIAN ACCESS, AND INSTALLATION OF BIRD NESTING BOXES USING RESOURCES FROM THE CORNELL LAB OF ORNITHOLOGYS NESTWATCH PROGRAM. THESE EFFORTS WILL FOSTER LONG-TERM HABITAT HEALTH, WATER QUALITY PROTECTION, PUBLIC EDUCATION, AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT.
