ECOTARIUM'S MISSION IS TO INSPIRE A PASSION FOR SCIENCE AND NATURE AMONG ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY THROUGH ONE-OF-A-KIND EXPERIENCES, INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS, AND ACCESSIBLE PROGRAMMING. AS NEW ENGLAND'S LEADING SCIENCE AND NATURE CENTER, OUR VISION IS TO BE AN INNOVATIVE LEADER IN EXPERIENTIAL, COMMUNITY-CENTERED, SCIENCE LEARNING. THE ECOTARIUM IS WIDELY RECOGNIZED FOR INNOVATIVE, INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS AND PROGRAMMING FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AND SCHOOL GROUPS, AND FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL GUEST EXPERIENCE.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY NO P22AS00102 FY 2022 NATIVE AMERICAN GRAVES PROTECTION AND REPATRIATION ACT NAGPRA REPATRIATION GRANTS ARE AWARDED COMPETITITVELY TO PROVIDE GRANTS TO MUSEUMS, INDIAN TRIBES, AND NATIVE HAWAIIAN ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSIST IN THE REPATRIATION OF HUMAN REMAINS AND CULTURAL ITEMS THE NAGPRA GRANTS ARE ADMINISTERED BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE THE WORCHESTER NATURAL HISTORY SOCIETY WILL BE REPATRIATING ONE SET OF HUMAN REMAINS BELIEVED TO BE A NIPMUC ANCESTOR THE GOAL IS THE RESPECTFUL TRANSFER OF PHYSICAL CUSTODY TO LINEAL DESCENDANTS ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE PHYSICAL TRANSFER, A BRIEF CEREMONY, AND RE INTERMENT TRIBAL PARTNERS INCLUDE THE NIPMUC NATION AND THE WAMPANOAG REPATRIATION CONFEDERACY THE INTENDED OUTCOME IS INCREASED TRUST BETWEEN THE NATIVE AMERICANS AND OUR CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS, AND A POSITIVE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE WORCESTER NATURAL HISTORY SOCIETY DBA ECOTARIUM AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY
