AN ESTIMATED 352 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE. OF THIS NUMBER, MORE THAN 250 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA, HEALTHY FUTURES, WILL INCLUDE MEALS ON WHEELS, CONGREGATE MEALS, FOOD PANTRY SUPPORT, MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION, AND MONEY MANAGEMENT. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES. AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT, MORE THAN 3,900 OLDER ADULTS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES ANNUALLY WILL HAVE RECEIVED FOOD, TRANSPORTATION OR OTHER SERVICES THAT ALLOW THEM TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY; 270 OLDER ADULTS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WILL REPORT HAVING INCREASED SOCIAL TIES/PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT AND/OR THE SUPPORT NEEDED TO REMAIN INDEPENDENT; AND 40 OLDER ADULTS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WILL REPORT IMPROVED ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE. ADDITIONAL FOCUS AREAS INCLUDE VOLUNTEERS SERVING TO ASSIST WITH CAPACITY BUILDING AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. ALL OF THESE PROGRAMS DEPEND ON RSVP VOLUNTEERS FOR IMPLEMENTATION. AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT, MORE THAN 1,400 OLDER ADULTS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WILL HAVE RECEIVED TAX PREPARATION SERVICES GENERATING OVER $400,000 IN TAX REFUNDS, AND MORE THAN 25 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WILL RECEIVE CAPACITY BUILDING SUPPORT THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF RSVP VOLUNTEERS. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $60,791 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $61,189 IN NON-FEDERAL RESOURCES.
