CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS - THE PROVIDENCE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS IS PLANNING TO USE THESE FUNDS TO EXPAND OUR CENTRAL HEALTH CENTER. OUR CENTRAL HEALTH CENTER, 239 CRANSTON STREET, PROVIDENCE, RI PROVIDES PRIMARY CARE, PEDIATRIC, OB/GYN, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES. THIS HEALTH CENTER IS IN A HPSA MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED AND PROVIDER SHORTAGE AREA. WE ARE THE MAIN PROVIDER OF HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO THE MEDICAID POPULATION IN THIS SERVICE AREA. OUR PROJECT INCLUDES ADDING A 3,310 SQUARE FOOT ADDITION TO THE CURRENT 8,310 SQUARE FOOT FACILITY WHICH WILL INCLUDE 10 ADDITIONAL TREATMENT ROOMS, ADDITIONAL WAITING ROOM AND TEAM SPACE. DEMAND FOR HEALTHCARE SERVICES AT THIS LOCATION HAS CONSISTENTLY INCREASED AND THIS EXPANSION WILL ALLOW US TO ADD THREE ADDITIONAL PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS TO THIS LOCATION.
