THE RYAN WHITE HIV/AIDS PROGRAM (RWHAP) FUNDS DIRECT HEALTH CARE AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR OVER HALF A MILLION PEOPLE DIAGNOSED WITH HIV IN THE UNITED STATES. HRSA AWARDS RWHAP FUNDS TO CITIES, STATES, AND LOCAL COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO DELIVER EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE HIV CARE, TREATMENT, AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR LOW-INCOME PEOPLE WITH HIV. SINCE THE PROGRAM’S INCEPTION IN 1990, RWHAP HAS DEVELOPED A COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEM OF SAFETY NET PROVIDERS WHO DELIVER HIGH-QUALITY, INNOVATIVE HIV HEALTH CARE. THE RWHAP HAS FIVE STATUTORILY DEFINED PARTS (PARTS A THROUGH D AND PART F) THAT PROVIDE FUNDING FOR CORE MEDICAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, CLINICAL TRAINING, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE MODELS OF CARE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES AND POPULATIONS AFFECTED BY HIV.
