THIS LARGE SCALE PROJECT, ENCOMPASSING TWO FLOORS OF THE MUSEUM, WILL PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF THE THREE-YEAR PERIOD FROM 1962-64, A TIME THAT SAW A RADICAL SHIFT IN AMERICAN ART, HISTORY, AND GLOBAL CULTURE. THE SHOW WILL CRITICALLY EXAMINE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEW YORK ART WORLD AGAINST THIS BACKDROP, HIGHLIGHTING HOW ARTISTS ACROSS THE CULTURAL LANDSCAPE INTERACTED WITH THE CHANGING CITY AROUND THEM AND DEMONSTRATING HOW THEIR WORK WAS INEXTRICABLY TIED TO THIS BROADER CONTEXT. THE MUSEUM WILL ESTABLISH NEW PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES AND TRAIN STAFF TO SUPPORT AND SUSTAIN A ROBUST ONLINE ENVIRONMENT. THE MUSEUM ALSO WILL REDEPLOY ITS ARCHIVE OF PROGRAMMATIC CONTENT RECORDED DURING THE PANDEMIC AND CONDUCT NEW DIGITAL OUTREACH EFFORTS. THE MUSEUM WILL DESIGN ITS PROGRAMMING TO ELIMINATE MANY OF THE GEOGRAPHICAL AND LOGISTICAL BARRIERS THAT LIMIT IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION. THIS INITIATIVE WILL ALLOW THE MUSEUM TO STRENGTHEN STAFF CAPACITIES TO SUPPORT DIGITAL INCLUSION AND THE ONLINE SERVICES REQUIRED AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

THE MUSEUM WILL CONTRACT A TEMPORARY SENIOR-LEVEL PROFESSIONAL FOR A FEW WEEKS BEFORE MAKING A MORE PERMANENT HIRE. THIS PROFESSIONAL WILL MANAGE AND COORDINATE THE GUARD FORCE AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH MPD AND FBI. WE WILL ALSO HIRE A NEW CONTRACTED SECURITY FIRM AND ADD ADDITIONAL GUARDS TO OUR DAILY SECURITY. BY DOING SO, WE ANTICIPATE SECURITY COSTS TO DOUBLE. IT IS WITH THESE ENHANCEMENTS THAT WE CAN ENSURE OUR STAFF, COLLECTION, AND VISITORS ARE AND FEEL SAFE, SO THAT WE CAN BRING JEWISH HISTORY, ART, LANGUAGE, AND RELIGION TO ALL WHO VISIT OUR INSTITUTION.]
