THE LOCAL'S MISSION IS TO RAISE THE STANDARD OF LIVING OF ITS MEMBERS. THE UNION ORGANIZES NEW MEMBERS, NEGOTIATES CONTRACTS TO MAXIMIZE THE BARGAINING POWER OF THE MEMBERS AND OFFERS BENEFITS TO ITS MEMBERS. THE UNION'S MEMBERS ALL WORK IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY. THE UNION SERVES MAINLY COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, SCHOOL DISTRICTS, ENTERTAINMENT AND JANITORIAL EMPLOYEES.
