PURPOSE: ANALYSES OF IMPEDIMENTS TO FAIR HOUSING CHOICE, RECENT REPORTS FROM LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE WORK OF HOME REVEALS THAT THE GREATER CINCINNATI REGION IS SEVERELY RACIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY SEGREGATED AS WELL AS THAT HOUSING DISCRIMINATION IS PERVASIVE AND SYSTEMIC IN NATURE. ALL OF THE JURISDICTIONS WITH AN ANALYSIS OF IMPEDIMENTS TO FAIR HOUSING CHOICE FIND THAT A MAJOR IMPEDIMENT IS A LACK OF FAIR HOUSING EDUCATION AND OUTREACH SERVICES. IN ADDITION, MOST RECOMMEND INCREASED EDUCATION ON THE FAIR LENDING LAWS IN AN EFFORT TO CLOSE THE RACIAL WEALTH GAP IN THE REGION.; ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: HOME WILL UNDERTAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES TO ADDRESS THE SEGREGATION AND HOUSING DISCRIMINATION IN THE CINCINNATI OH MSA: • MAINTAIN WEBSITE TO PROVIDE IMPROVED ACCESS TO FAIR HOUSING INFORMATION AND MATERIALS. • MAINTAIN SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS TO SHARE FAIR HOUSING INFORMATION AND NEWS ACROSS A GENERAL AUDIENCE. • CREATE NEW INFORMATIONAL FACT SHEET HIGHLIGHTING FAIR HOUSING PROTECTIONS FOR RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION. • CREATE NEW INFORMATIONAL FACT SHEET HIGHLIGHTING FAIR HOUSING PROTECTIONS FOR NATIONAL ORIGIN DISCRIMINATION. • CONDUCT AT LEAST 8 FAIR HOUSING TRAININGS AND/OR OUTREACH EVENTS FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC, FOCUSING ON MEMBERS OF PROTECTED CLASSES AND INCLUDING INFORMATION ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS AND LEAD PAINT REMEDIATION.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: CONDUCT AT LEAST 2 TRAININGS REACHING LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY POPULATIONS, INCLUDING INFORMATION ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS AND LEAD PAINT REMEDIATION. • CONDUCT AT LEAST 4 FAIR HOUSING TRAININGS ON FAIR HOUSING PROTECTIONS FOR HOMEBUYERS OR HOUSING COUNSELING AGENCIES, INCLUDING INFORMATION ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS AND LEAD PAINT REMEDIATION. • CONDUCT AT LEAST 4 FAIR HOUSING TRAININGS ON FAIR HOUSING PROTECTIONS FOR POPULATIONS VULNERABLE TO RELIGIOUS AND/OR NATIONAL ORIGIN DISCRIMINATION. • HOLD AT LEAST 2 MEETINGS WITH POPULATIONS, ADVOCATES, AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS IMPACTED BY RELIGIOUS AND/OR NATIONAL ORIGIN DISCRIMINATION TO DISCUSS FAIR HOUSING PROTECTIONS. • HIGHLIGHT ORGANIZATION'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND IMPACT DURING FAIR HOUSING MONTH ACTIVITY. • PRODUCE AND DISTRIBUTE 4 FAIR HOUSING NEWSLETTERS.
