THE MISSION OF COLORADO YOUTH FOR A CHANGE (CYC) IS TO SOLVE THE DROPOUT CRISIS IN COLORADO. IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE CNCS PROGRAMMING PRIORITY AREA OF EDUCATION, CYC IS REQUESTING 4 VISTAS TO INCREASE CYC'S ABILITY TO SERVE LOW-INCOME, OUT-OF-SCHOOL YOUTH AND STUDENTS AT-RISK OF DROPPING OUT. THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT IS ESTIMATED TO FILL THE 12-MONTH SERVICE TERMS OF EACH REQUESTED VISTA. PRIMARY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE INCREASING THE INVOLVEMENT OF VOLUNTEERS, ENHANCING THE ORGANIZATION'S DATABASE TO INCREASE RESOURCES FOR THE YOUTH SERVED, AND DEVELOPING RECRUITMENT AND POST-PROGRAM FOLLOW UP MODELS TO INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE REENGAGEMENT SERVICES CYC PROVIDES TO OUT-OF-SCHOOL YOUTH.
