THE VISTA PROJECT SEEKS TO EXPAND EFFORTS TO BUILD FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS AT TARGET SCHOOL SITES INCLUDING, TWO CONTINUATION HIGH SCHOOLS, ONE MIDDLE SCHOOL, ONE MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL (6TH-12TH GRADES) AND TWO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN OAKLAND, CA, AND EXPECTS TO BENEFIT AT LEAST 300 LOW-INCOME FAMILIES. 9 FULL TIME VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT, SUCH AS EXPANDING SAFE PASSAGES' ABILITY TO RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS; CREATING REFERRAL SYSTEMS TO IDENTIFY AND REFER STRUGGLING STUDENTS AND FAMILIES TO THE FRCS, SECURING AND GATHERING RESOURCES TO SET UP THE FRCS, AND SUPPORTING THE LOGISTICS OF EXPANDING EXISTING PARTNERSHIPS TO PROVIDE SERVICES AT FRCS, AMONG OTHER ACTIVITIES FOR ONE MORE CONTINUATION YEAR.
