JERICHO ROAD MINISTRIES' 2025 COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT APPLICATION - JERICHO ROAD MINISTRIES, INC. (JERICHO ROAD), WILL USE $800,000 IN CED FUNDS TO EXPAND ITS THRIFT STORE OPERATIONS IN BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA, BY OPENING TWO NEW RETAIL LOCATIONS AND ENHANCING ITS SUPPLY CHAIN DEPARTMENT. JERICHO THRIFT, THE PARTICIPATING BUSINESS, WILL USE THE FUNDS TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AND FIXTURES, MAKE MINOR REVISIONS, AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL EXPENSES. JERICHO ROAD WILL LEVERAGE ITS LONG-STANDING PROGRAMMING AND PARTNERSHIPS TO PROVIDE WRAPAROUND SERVICES SUCH AS SUBSTANCE ABUSE RECOVERY, FINANCIAL LITERACY, EDUCATION, HOUSING, AND TRANSPORTATION. THESE SERVICES WILL HELP ADDRESS BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORT LONG-TERM SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THE PROJECT WILL LEVERAGE AN ADDITIONAL $5,000 IN FUNDING. JERICHO THRIFT CURRENTLY SUPPORTS 68 FULL-TIME POSITIONS AND HAS A STRONG TRACK RECORD OF EMPLOYING INDIVIDUALS FACING SIGNIFICANT BARRIERS. THIS EXPANSION WILL FURTHER STRENGTHEN JOB ACCESS IN BROOKSVILLE. THE PROJECT WILL CREATE 30 ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME, SUSTAINABLE JOBS, 23 OF WHICH WILL BE FILLED BY INDIVIDUALS FROM LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS IN THE 34601 ZIP CODE.
