LIKEWISE, PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS REFER VICTIMS TO EMMAUS FOR MALE-SPECIFIC SERVICES. WITH THIS OVC AWARD, EMMAUS WILL INCREASE ITS CAPACITY TO SERVE THE GROWING NUMBER OF CLIENTS WITH WHOM EMMAUS IS MAKING CONTACT. EMMAUS WILL HIRE TWO CASE MANAGERS TO SUPPORT CLIENTS ON THEIR JOURNEY TOWARD SELF-IDENTIFIED GOALS OF HEALTH AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THIS WILL ALLOW CURRENT STAFF PROVIDING CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO FOCUS ON OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, AMONG OTHER THINGS. THE "REBUILDING LIVES" PROJECT WILL FOCUS ON ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, HEALTHY FUTURES, AND EDUCATION. EACH VISTA MEMBER WILL SERVE A ONE YEAR TERM. THIS WILL BE THE SEVENTH YEAR OF OPERATION FOR THIS PROJECT. TWO OF THE ORIGINAL POSITIONS (FUNDRAISING AND HEALTH AND WELLNESS) UNDERWENT MAJOR CHANGES IN 2016 TO REFLECT THE PROGRESS MADE IN ACHIEVING PROJECT GOALS OVER THE FIRST THREE YEARS. TWO NEW POSITIONS WERE ADDED IN 2016 TO DEVELOP THE NEW D'YOUVILLE PROGRAM INCLUDING PROGRAM DEVELOPER FOR THE EMMAUS EXPLORERS CHILDREN'S ENRICHMENT PROGRAM AND PROGRAM DEVELOPER FOR THE D'YOUVILLE EMPOWERMENT PROJECT FOR HOMELESS ADULTS, PRIMARILY SINGLE MOTHERS. EMMAUS COMBINED THESE TWO POSITIONS INTO ONE POSITION IN 2018 TO CONTINUE THE PROGRESS THAT HAS BEEN MADE IN THE PAST THREE YEARS IN DEVELOPING THESE LIFE-CHANGING PROGRAMS. EMMAUS SEEKS A TEAM OF THREE VISTA MEMBERS TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS OVER THE UPCOMING YEAR: 1) FUNDRAISING/MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST: ONE VISTA MEMBER WILL FOCUS ON GENERATING CRITICALLY NEEDED FUNDS TO SUPPORT EMMAUS' HOUSING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES (ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY). S/HE WILL SEEK TO FURTHER ENHANCE THE EMMAUS BRAND THROUGH MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS PROJECTS, WITH A FOCUS ON INCREASING EMMAUS' PRESENCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS, TO REACH NEW AUDIENCES AND INCREASE AWARENESS ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE SOCIAL PROBLEMS OF HOMELESSNESS, FOOD INSECURITY, AND POVERTY ; 2) HEALTH AND WELLNESS: ONE VISTA MEMBER WILL DEVELOP A WIDE RANGE OF PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELLNESS AMONG BOTH HOMELESS AND FORMERLY HOMELESS HOUSEHOLDS (HEALTHY FUTURES). S/HE WILL BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND WORK CLOSELY WITH THEM TO EXECUTE VALUABLE HEALTH-RELATED PROGRAMS FOR EMMAUS CLIENTS. S/HE WILL SEEK TO CULTIVATE RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS THAT WILL BRING NEEDED HEALTH AND WELLNESS RESOURCES TO HOMELESS AND LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS ENGAGED WITH EMMAUS. 3) EMMAUS PARENTS' AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAM COORDINATOR: ONE VISTA MEMBER WILL COORDINATE BOTH EMMAUS EXPLORERS CHILDREN'S ENRICHMENT PROGRAM THAT WAS INITIATED BY THE 2015- 2016 AMERICORPS VISTA TEAM DURING THE SUMMER OF 2015 (EDUCATION) AND THE ADULT EMPOWERMENT PROJECT ESTABLISHED IN 2016 (ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY). S/HE WILL SEEK TO DEVELOP AND REFINE ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (CASH AND IN-KIND SUPPORT), COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING, OUTREACH, CURRICULUM DESIGN, AND PROGRAM EVALUATION. EMMAUS INC., A NON-PROFIT 501(C) 3 ORGANIZATION, WAS INCORPORATED IN 1985 AND SEEKS TO RELIEVE THE PLIGHT OF THE HOMELESS THROUGH EMERGENCY SHELTER, PERMANENT AFFORDABLE HOUSING, JOB READINESS AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, AND COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES. IN SEPTEMBER 2018, EMMAUS WAS CERTIFIED BY THE POINTS OF LIGHT FOUNDATION AND THE MASSACHUSETTS SERVICE ALLIANCE AS A SERVICE ENTERPRISE. EMMAUS IS ALSO A CERTIFIED WOMEN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION (W/NPO) AND A CERTIFIED COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (CHDO). EMMAUS VIEWS ITS MISSION AS A CALL TO REBUILD AND RENEW COMMUNITY. FOR ITS SEVENTH YEAR OF OPERATION, THE PROPOSED "REBUILDING LIVES" PROJECT WILL EMPLOY A TEAM OF THREE VISTA MEMBERS TO BUILD EMMAUS' ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY TO FIGHT HOMELESSNESS, FOOD INSECURITY, POVERTY, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE THROUGH: 1) FUNDRAISING/MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS, 2) COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, 3) DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED POPULATIONS, WITH A FOCUS ON HOMELESS ADULTS AND CHILDREN, 4) DEVELOPMENT OF OUT-OF-SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR HOMELESS CHILDREN, AND 5) DEVELOPMENT OF ADULT EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE ECONOMIC OUTCOMES FOR HOMELESS ADULTS, PRIMARILY SINGLE MOTHERS. THE "REBUILDING LIVES" PROJECT WILL FOCUS ON ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, HEALTHY FUTURES, AND EDUCATION. EACH VISTA MEMBER WILL SERVE A ONE YEAR TERM. THIS WILL BE THE SEVENTH YEAR OF OPERATION FOR THIS PROJECT. TWO OF THE ORIGINAL POSITIONS (FUNDRAISING AND HEALTH AND WELLNESS) UNDERWENT MAJOR CHANGES IN 2016 TO REFLECT THE PROGRESS MADE IN ACHIEVING PROJECT GOALS OVER THE FIRST THREE YEARS. TWO NEW POSITIONS WERE ADDED IN 2016 TO DEVELOP THE NEW D'YOUVILLE PROGRAM INCLUDING PROGRAM DEVELOPER FOR THE EMMAUS EXPLORERS CHILDREN'S ENRICHMENT PROGRAM AND PROGRAM DEVELOPER FOR THE D'YOUVILLE EMPOWERMENT PROJECT FOR HOMELESS ADULTS, PRIMARILY SINGLE MOTHERS. EMMAUS COMBINED THESE TWO POSITIONS INTO ONE POSITION IN 2018 TO CONTINUE THE PROGRESS THAT HAS BEEN MADE IN THE PAST THREE YEARS IN DEVELOPING THESE LIFE-CHANGING PROGRAMS. EMMAUS SEEKS A TEAM OF THREE VISTA MEMBERS TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS OVER THE UPCOMING YEAR: 1) FUNDRAISING/MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST: ONE VISTA MEMBER WILL FOCUS ON GENERATING CRITICALLY NEEDED FUNDS TO SUPPORT EMMAUS' HOUSING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES (ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY). S/HE WILL SEEK TO FURTHER ENHANCE THE EMMAUS BRAND THROUGH MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS PROJECTS, WITH A FOCUS ON INCREASING EMMAUS' PRESENCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS, TO REACH NEW AUDIENCES AND INCREASE AWARENESS ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE SOCIAL PROBLEMS OF HOMELESSNESS, FOOD INSECURITY, AND POVERTY ; 2) HEALTH AND WELLNESS: ONE VISTA MEMBER WILL DEVELOP A WIDE RANGE OF PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELLNESS AMONG BOTH HOMELESS AND FORMERLY HOMELESS HOUSEHOLDS (HEALTHY FUTURES). S/HE WILL BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND WORK CLOSELY WITH THEM TO EXECUTE VALUABLE HEALTH-RELATED PROGRAMS FOR EMMAUS CLIENTS. S/HE WILL SEEK TO CULTIVATE RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS THAT WILL BRING NEEDED HEALTH AND WELLNESS RESOURCES TO HOMELESS AND LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS ENGAGED WITH EMMAUS. 3) EMMAUS PARENTS' AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAM COORDINATOR: ONE VISTA MEMBER WILL COORDINATE BOTH EMMAUS EXPLORERS CHILDREN'S ENRICHMENT PROGRAM THAT WAS INITIATED BY THE 2015- 2016 AMERICORPS VISTA TEAM DURING THE SUMMER OF 2015 (EDUCATION) AND THE ADULT EMPOWERMENT PROJECT ESTABLISHED IN 2016 (ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY). S/HE WILL SEEK TO DEVELOP AND REFINE ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (CASH AND IN-KIND SUPPORT), COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING, OUTREACH, CURRICULUM DESIGN, AND PROGRAM EVALUATION. EMMAUS INC., A NON-PROFIT 501(C) 3 ORGANIZATION, WAS INCORPORATED IN 1985 AND SEEKS TO RELIEVE THE PLIGHT OF THE HOMELESS THROUGH EMERGENCY SHELTER, PERMANENT AFFORDABLE HOUSING, JOB READINESS AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, AND COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES. IN SEPTEMBER 2018, EMMAUS WAS CERTIFIED BY THE POINTS OF LIGHT FOUNDATION AND THE MASSACHUSETTS SERVICE ALLIANCE AS A SERVICE ENTERPRISE. EMMAUS IS ALSO A CERTIFIED WOMEN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION (W/NPO) AND A CERTIFIED COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (CHDO). EMMAUS VIEWS ITS MISSION AS A CALL TO REBUILD AND RENEW COMMUNITY.
