THE RIPPLE COMMUNITY EFFECTS OF DEVELOPING THIS EMR CAPACITY AT LORETTO WILL BE SIGNIFICANT FOR IMPROVED COORDINATED CARE AND CARE PLANS AMONG ACUTE AND POST-ACUTE PROVIDERS, AND THE FINANCIAL MODULES WILL STREAMLINE AND ENHANCE QUALITY FOR ADMISSIONS, DISCHARGES, AND TRANSFERS ACROSS THE COMMUNITY CONTINUUM OF CARE. FUNDING THIS PROJECT WILL HELP LORETTO STRATEGICALLY WITH MORE TIMELY AND ACCURATE DATA ANALYTICS; IN TURN, THIS DATA CAPACITY CAN INFORM HOW BEST TO ADDRESS COMPELLING NEEDS, AS WELL AS BETTER PROMOTE THE FUTURE HEALTH OF IMPOVERISHED, DISADVANTAGED, AND ELDERLY POPULATIONS IN CENTRAL NEW YORK. IN ORDER TO TRANSLATE THIS PROJECT INTO REALITY, LORETTO SEEKS FUNDING FOR DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF EMR AT LORETTO HEALTH AND REHABILITATION CENTER. LORETTO’S CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER HAS BEEN WORKING WITH A CONSULTANT TO IMPLEMENT A PLAN TO ROLL OUT THE NEW EMR, TRAIN STAFF AND BUILD OUT A ROBUST ANALYTICS AND REPORTING SUITE, HELPING TO MEET AN URGENT NEED IN THE COMMUNITY. THE OUTCOMES OF THE EMR PROJECT INCLUDE GREATER ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY HEALTHCARE FOR THE POPULATION LORETTO SERVES, DECREASED IMPACT OF HEALTH DISPARITIES, INCREASING UNDERSTANDING AND ASSISTING MITIGATION OF NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH, EMPOWERING INDIVIDUAL KNOWLEDG E AND UNDERSTANDING THROUGH ACCESS TO PERSONAL HEALTH DATA, ROBUST HEALTH IT INFRASTRUCTURE, AND IMPROVED HEALTH OUTCOMES. THIS FUNDING IS CRITICAL. FEASIBLY UNDERTAKING THE EMR PROJECT RELIES UPON GRANTS AND OTHER FORMS OF PUBLIC FUNDING DUE TO THE PROGRAM’S INTRINSIC LACK OF HARD ASSETS AND BEING A NON-QUALIFIER FOR TRADITIONAL FINANCING.
