AT THE END OF THE FIRST PROGRAM YEAR, AS STUDENT SUCCESS COACHES, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL MENTOR 6,000 STUDENTS, 1,500 OF WHOM WILL IMPROVE LITERACY SKILLS, 900 WILL IMPROVE MATH SKILLS, 440 WILL IMPROVE ATTENDANCE, AND ALL WILL BE SUPPORTED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS THAT IMPROVE SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT. MEMBERS WILL ALSO PROVIDE EXTENDED DAY AND SCHOOL CLIMATE ACTIVITIES. IN ADDITION, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL LEVERAGE 3,000 VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL BE ENGAGED IN SERVICE PROJECTS THAT BENEFIT OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITIES. THIS PROGRAM WILL FOCUS ON THE CNCS FOCUS AREA OF EDUCATION. THE CNCS INVESTMENT OF $13,300,800 WILL BE MATCHED WITH $13,300,800, $9,136,792 IN PUBLIC FUNDING AND $4,164,008 IN PRIVATE FUNDING.

AT THE END OF THE FIRST PROGRAM YEAR, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPORTING OVER 800 ENGLISH AND MATH CLASSROOMS AND PROVIDING INDIVIDUALIZED SERVICES TO 4,450 STUDENTS OF WHICH 1,400 STUDENTS WILL IMPROVE ENGLISH SKILLS, 950 WILL IMPROVE MATH SKILLS, AND 600 WILL IMPROVE ATTENDANCE. IN ADDITION, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL LEVERAGE 5,000 VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL BE ENGAGED IN SERVICE PROJECTS THAT IMPROVE OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITIES.
