THE PCPA, THROUGH THE PA CHIEFS ACCREDITATION ENHANCEMENT PROJECT, WISHES TO EXPAND THE PENNSYLVANIA LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCREDITATION PROGRAM (PLEAP), A COMMONWEALTH-TAILORED, USER-FRIENDLY CREDENTIALING SYSTEM MANAGED BY PCPA SINCE 2001. IF AWARDED FUNDING, PCPA WILL INCREASE THE ACCREDITATION PROGRAM MANAGERS TIME FROM 0.4 FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT (15 HRS/WEEK) TO 0.6 FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT (22.5 HRS/WEEK), ENABLING AN ADDITIONAL 390 ANNUAL HOURS OF ONE-ON-ONE AGENCY MENTORING AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT; RECRUIT, TRAIN, AND CERTIFY NEW PEER ASSESSORS TO EXPAND ON-SITE REVIEW CAPACITY AND LEVERAGE THE POWERDMS PLATFORM; INCREASE THE NUMBER OF AGENCIES ENROLLED AND ACCREDITED; DELIVER REGIONAL WORKSHOPS AND VIRTUAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AT EACH ACCREDITATION PHASE; ATTEND MONTHLY, QUARTERLY, AND ANNUAL ACCREDITATION MEETINGS TO ASSIST AGENCIES IN THE PROCESS; REVAMP THE PLEAP WEBSITE FOR INTUITIVE NAVIGATION, UP-TO-DATE RESOURCES, AND USER TRACKING; UPGRADE ESSENTIAL HARDWARE SUCH AS DESKTOP AND LAPTOP COMPUTERS TO SECURE ACCREDITATION DATA AND ENSURE SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY; AND UNDERWRITE INCREASED PROGRAMMATIC EXPENSES TO MAINTAIN FISCAL SUSTAINABILITY.
