THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO MAKE EVERY ASPECT OF THE PERFORMING ARTS AN INSTRUMENT FOR EDUCATION, PARTICIPATION, ENTERTAINMENT, AND GROWTH WHILE USING, RESTORING AND PRESERVING THE SPRINGER OPERA HOUSE BUILDING AS PART OF A WORKING THEATRE COMPLEX. THE SPRINGER SUPPORTS THE SPRINGER SCHOOL OF THEATRE ARTS, THE GLESCA MARSHALL PERFORMING ARTS LIBRARY, SPRINGER THEATRE ON TOUR, THE DEEPSOUTH NEW PLAY CONTEST, VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS (SPRINGER GUILD AND SOHO) AND MAINSTAGE SEASON PERFORMANCES.

THE GRANTS SUPPORT A BROAD RANGE OF PRESERVATION PROJECTS FOR HISTORIC PROPERTIES INCLUDING ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES, HISTORIC STRUCTURE REPORTS, PRESERVATION PLANS, AND PHYSICAL PRESERVATION TO SITES IN KEEPING WITH THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIORS STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR ARCHEOLOGY AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION. BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE STATES, TRIBES, LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND NONPROFITS AS DESIGNATED BY CONGRESS. THIS PROJECT IS AWARDED TO THE NONPROFIT, SPRINGER OPERA HOUSE ARTS ASSOCIATION, FOR REPAIRS TO THE WINDOWS, DOORS, MARQUEE, AND ROOF PLUS SYSTEM AND ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SPRINGER OPERA HOUSE.
