THE SAN JOSE MUSEUM OF ART WILL INVEST IN INSTITUTION-WIDE TRAININGS AND INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGNED TO BUILD COLLABORATION INTO THE BASIC PROCESSES OF MUSEUM OPERATIONS. PROJECT ACTIVITIES INCLUDE A MIXTURE OF ON-DEMAND AND IN-PERSON TRAININGS FOR STAFF FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING CORE COMPETENCIES FOR WORKING EFFECTIVELY IN A NON-HIERARCHICAL ORGANIZATION ALONG WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF IMPROVED COMMUNICATION TOOLS, PROCEDURES, AND PRACTICES. STAFF TRAININGS WILL FOCUS ON EFFORTS TO SYSTEMATICALLY GROW CROSS-INSTITUTIONAL COHESION AND PRACTICES TO REDUCE INTERNAL INEFFICIENCIES ROOTED IN INCONSISTENT USE OF EXISTING TECHNOLOGY. . THE PROJECT WILL RESULT IN NUMEROUS CHANGES TO THE MUSEUM’S OPERATIONS BY STANDARDIZING THE USE OF DIGITAL COLLABORATION TOOLS, INITIATING 360-DEGREE PERFORMANCE REVIEWS, AND LAUNCHING COLLABORATIVE AND CROSS-DEPARTMENTAL BUDGETING PRACTICES. CREATING A CULTURE OF LEARNING AND COLLABORATION WILL BENEFIT MUSEUM STAFF AS WELL AS THE COMMUNITY THE MUSEUM SERVES.
