FORMED IN 1972 BY A GROUP OF LOCAL BIRDERS PASSIONATE ABOUT CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH BIRDS AND WILDLIFE AND NATURE GOLDEN EAGLE AUDUBON SOCIETY IS SOUTHWEST IDAHO CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL AUDUBON SOCIETY. CONSISTENT WITH ITS HISTORY GOLDEN EAGLE AUDUBON ACTIVELY WELCOMES EVERYONE TO ATTEND ITS EDUCATION AND CONSERVATION AND ADVOCACY PROGRAMS TO ENTICE A WIDE VARIETY OF PEOPLE TO CARE ABOUT BIRDS. VOLUNTEERISM IS STRONG WITH A WHOPPING 1360 INDIVIDUALS WORKING MORE THAN 10500 HOURS IN 2023 WHICH GREATLY SUPPORTED THE ONE FULL TIME AND TWO PART TIME EMPLOYEES.THE GOLDEN EAGLE AUDUBON SOCIETY CONSERVATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT WILL LEVERAGE ITS DEDICATED VOLUNTEER BASE TO ACCOMPLISH CONSERVATION TASKS FOR AT RISK SPECIES USING ITS VARIED AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND RESTORATION STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES AND OTHER CONSERVATION WORK. SUPPORTING PARTNERS ENCOMPASS CITY AND COUNTY AND STATE GOVERNMENTS AS WELL AS OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND PRIVATE COMPANIES. TOGETHER WE WILL LEAD THE WAY TO HELP REDUCE OR ELIMINATE THREATS TO AT RISK BIRD SPECIES AND MORE IN SOUTHWEST IDAHO AND BEYOND.FUNDS PROVIDED FROM THIS AWARD WILL BE USED TO ASSIST CONSERVATION EFFORTS FOR A VARIETY OF CANDIDATE AND AT-RISK SPECIES THROUGH SUPPORTING GOLDEN EAGLE AUDUBON SOCIETY IN THE PLANNING AND DELIVERY OF A VARIETY OF STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES AND EDUCATION OUTREACH EFFORTS. FUNDS WILL PROVIDE FOR CONSISTENT STAFFING OF THE ORGANIZATION TO COORDINATE THE FINANCIAL AND IN-KIND VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTIONS FROM PARTNERS AND FACILITATE THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS: STEWARDSHIP OF RESTORED AREAS, CONSERVATION EDUCATION, HABITAT PATCH PROGRAM, WINDOW COLLISIONS PROGRAM, AND PROJECT PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION. THESE PROJECTS WILL RESULT IN THE STEWARDSHIP OF HABITAT RESTORATION SITES, INCREASED CONSERVATION EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES, AND AN INCREASE IN INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED AND PREPARED TO BECOME STEWARDS IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES. THE EXECUTION OF THESE EFFORTS WILL BENEFIT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS, COMMUNITIES OF SOUTHWEST IDAHO, AND THE VARIED CANDIDATE AND AT-RISK SPECIES THAT WILL BENEFIT FROM IMPROVED HABITAT AND INCREASED STEWARDSHIP RESULTING FROM OUTREACH AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES.
