THIS ACT OF VIOLENCE CREATED AN IMMEDIATE NEED TO WORK CLOSELY WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO INCREASE THE PROTECTIVE FACTORS THAT WILL SUPPORT YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH THE HEALING AND RECOVERY PROCESS, WHILE ALSO REDUCE RISK FACTORS THAT LEAD TO YOUTH AND FAMILY MISUSE OF SUBSTANCES. THIS PROJECT WILL SUPPORT THE ENTIRE ORION/OXFORD COMMUNITY WITH A POPULATION OF 60,625 INDIVIDUALS, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON YOUTH AGED 8-18 AND THEIR PARENTS, A TARGET POPULATION OF 27,584 PEOPLE EVERY YEAR. THROUGHOUT THE FIVE YEARS OF THE PROJECT, THE NOCC EXPECTS TO IMPACT 60,000 INDIVIDUALS.
