Within the general charitable and educational purposes, the specific and primary purpose of the Foundation is to promote and support the administration of justice in Georgia, particularly through the continuing legal education of criminal defense lawyers through the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Inc.s (which is referred to in the foundation's Bylaws as GACDL) Al Horn, Debra Blum, and Bill Daniel Scholarship funds, as well as through scholarships for public defenders and newly licensed criminal defense lawyers to attend continuing legal education programs.
