THE MISSION OF THE LOS ANGELES EDUCATION CORPS IS TO CREATE AND MANAGE CHARTER SCHOOLS THAT PROVIDE SMALL, SUPPORTIVE LEARNING COMMUNITIES THAT MEET THE EDUCATIONAL AND PERSONAL NEEDS OF DISADVANTAGE STUDENTS RESULTING IN CHANGED LIVES, FAMILIES, AND GENERATIONS. OUR PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE EDUCATION PROGRAMMING PRIORITY AREA. OUR GOAL IS TO INCREASE THE NUMBERS OF STUDENTS FROM COMMUNITIES IN POVERTY WHO ENROLL IN OUR SCHOOL AND TRANSITION INTO POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION. WE ARE REQUESTING THREE VISTA MEMBERS WHO WILL PERFORM OUTREACH AND MARKETING, ASSIST WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR POST-SECONDARY TRANSITION PROGRAM, AND HELP TO DEVELOP FINANCIAL RESOURCES OVER ONE YEAR.
