THIS EDA INVESTMENT SUPPORTS THE COMPLETION OF A STATE-WIDE ROADMAP FOR THE PROVISION OF AFFORDABLE BROADBAND INITIATIVES THROUGHOUT WEST VIRGINIA, TO PROMOTE RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE EFFORTS DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC AND THE DOWNTURN IN THE COAL INDUSTRY. THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AND CONTRACTUAL WORK TO COMPLETE THE COMPREHENSIVE BROADBAND PLAN FOR THE STATE. ONCE COMPLETED, THE PLAN WILL CREATE A MORE RESILIENT BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE, WHICH WILL HELP STRENGTHEN AND ADVANCE ECONOMIC RESILIENCY IN AN AREA THAT HAS BEEN IMPACTED BY THE DECLINE IN THE COAL INDUSTRY.
