COMMUNITY PROGRESS AND ITS SUPPORT PARTNER THE NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (NJIT) WILL LEVERAGE THEIR PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT WITH LAND BANKS AND BROWNFIELDS AND THEIR NETWORKS TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES. TASK 2: DEVELOP GUIDES ON BEST PRACTICES, LESSONS LEARNED, EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES, AND MODEL APPROACHES. INFORMED BY THEIR INITIAL RESEARCH AND MATERIALS, COMMUNITY PROGRESS AND NJIT WILL DEVELOP THE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES LISTED BELOW. COMMUNITY PROGRESS WILL WORK WITH EPA TO IDENTIFY EPA RESOURCES THAT COULD INFORM THESE GUIDES AND PROVIDE EPA THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE GUIDES BEFORE THEY ARE FINALIZED. ALL RESOURCES WILL ACKNOWLEDGE EPA FUNDING. TASK 3: EDUCATE LAND BANK AND BROWNFIELD STAKEHOLDERS. COMMUNITY PROGRESS AND NJIT WILL REACH A BROAD AUDIENCE REPRESENTING LAND BANKS AND BROWNFIELD IMPLEMENTATION PARTNERS IN DIVERSE COMMUNITIES NATIONWIDE TO HIGHLIGHT THE FINDINGS FROM THE RESEARCH IN TASK 1 AND SHARE THE INFORMATIONAL GUIDES IN TASK 2 THROUGH THE BELOW OUTLETS. COMMUNITY PROGRESS PLANS TO CAPITALIZE ON EXISTING EVENTS WITH CAPTIVE, RELEVANT AUDIENCES AND RELEASE RESOURCES FROM TASK 2 ON A ROLLING BASIS RATHER THAN WAITING FOR ALL RESOURCES TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO DISSEMINATION. WITH THIS APPROACH, COMMUNITY PROGRESS CAN REACH A WIDER AUDIENCE AND REINFORCE IMPORTANT MESSAGES ABOUT BROWNFIELDS AND LAND BANKS OVER A MULTI-YEAR PERIOD. TASK 4: PROVISION OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. COMMUNITY PROGRESS AND NJIT WILL PARTNER TO DELIVER DIRECT, CUSTOMIZED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR AT LEAST 3 EPA BROWNFIELD GRANT RECIPIENTS, SUBRECIPIENTS, OR TARGETED BROWNFIELDS ASSESSMENT (TBA) RECIPIENTS TO 1) HELP EXISTING LAND BANKS ENGAGE IN BROWNFIELD REVITALIZATION, AND 2) HELP BUILD THE FOUNDATION FOR NEW LAND BANKS IN AREAS WITH BROWNFIELDS. COMMUNITY PROGRESS AND NJIT HAVE DEEP EXPERIENCE DELIVERING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND HAVE ENGAGED WITH OVER 1,000 COMMUNITIES NATIONWIDE. THEY WILL CUSTOMIZE THEIR SERVICES TO EACH RECIPIENT, BUT AN OVERVIEW OF THE APPROACH TO TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND ACTIONS ARE PROVIDED BELOW.SUBRECIPIENT:COMMUNITY PROGRESS ANTICIPATES PROVIDING A SUBAWARD TO THE NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IN THE AMOUNT OF $95,009 FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT AND DISSEMINATION OF BROWNFIELD INFORMATION GUIDES AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. NJIT WILL PROVIDE SERVICES TO COMMUNITY PROGRESS IN EACH PHASE OF THE PROJECT.
