Briscoe Western Art Museum is a welcoming institution dedicated to celebrating the art, history and culture of the American West. THE BRISCOE WESTERN ART MUSEUM WILL DEVELOP AND PRODUCE AN EXHIBITION TITLED, “TEJANO LEGACY: ANOTHER AMERICAN ORIGIN STORY.” OPENING IN JULY 2026 FOR THE COUNTRY’S SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL, THE EXHIBITION WILL FOLLOW THE HISTORY OF TEJANOS THROUGH CENTURIES OF POLITICAL AND SOCIAL SHIFTS WITHIN AMERICA’S SOUTHERN BORDERLANDS. PROJECT FUNDS WILL SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, INTERACTIVE EXHIBITION CONTENT, AND THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH TRAVELING THE COMPLETED EXHIBIT TO ADDITIONAL VENUES IN THE U.S. THE EXHIBITION WILL ENGAGE VISITORS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES, ADDRESSING AN ENDURING EXPLORATION INTO WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AMERICAN.
