THE MUSEUM WILL ESTABLISH AN ACCESSIBILITY COMMUNITY ADVISORY COUNCIL AND WORK WITH INDIVIDUALS IN THE DISABILITY COMMUNITY AND A VARIETY OF LOCAL PARTNERS TO BECOME A LEADER IN ACCESSIBILITY PRACTICES FOR REGIONAL CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS. A ROBUST SERIES OF PROJECT ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE A BASELINE SURVEY OF STAFF, COMMUNITY PARTNERS, AND VISITORS FOLLOWED BY FOCUS GROUPS TO IDENTIFY ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS AND CONCERNS. THE MUSEUM WILL PLAN AND IMPLEMENT A MANDATORY STAFF AND VOLUNTEER ACCESSIBILITY TRAINING PROGRAM. THE PROJECT WILL ALSO INCLUDE A REVIEW OF THE MUSEUM'S BUILDING, WEBSITE, HIRING POLICIES AND MARKETING MATERIALS AND UPDATING OF POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND THE FOCUS GROUPS.

THE MUSEUM WILL EXPAND ITS FREE PUBLIC WI-FI TO INCLUDE THE MUSEUM'S OUTDOOR GALLERY AND PROGRAMMING SPACES. MOBILE RECORDING STUDIO CARTS WILL BE BUILT FOR USE IN ALL AREAS OF THE MUSEUM BUILDING AND GROUNDS. STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WILL RECEIVE THE EQUIPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT THEY NEED TO CREATE HIGH-QUALITY VIRTUAL AND HYBRID CONTENT.
