AN ESTIMATED 135 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE THE WARREN COUNTY, OHIO COMMUNITY. OF THIS NUMBER, 60 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE PROVIDE NUTRITION/FOOD SUPPORT, PROVIDING COMPANIONSHIP TO THE HOMEBOUND, FRAIL ELDERLY, PREPARING TAXES FOR SENIORS, AND TUTORING ADULTS. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES. AT THE END OF THE 3-YEAR GRANT INDIVIDUALS WILL REPORT INCREASED FOOD SECURITY, SENIORS WILL HAVE AN IMPROVED CAPACITY FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING, SENIORS WILL RECEIVE TAX REFUNDS OWED THEM, AND ADULTS WILL DEVELOP THEIR LITERACY SKILLS FOR IMPROVED JOB READINESS. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $50,366 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $21,585 OF NONFEDERAL RESOURCES.
