RESILIENCY ESSENTIALS: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS TRAINING PROJECT (RE-MHAP) - THE PURPOSE OF RESILIENCY ESSENTIALS: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS TRAINING PROJECT (RE-MHAP) INITIATIVE IS TO LEVERAGE OUR REGION'S EXISTING PREVENTION SYSTEM AND ITS RESOURCES AND CAPACITIES TO AFFECT CHANGE IN MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AREAS AMONG YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITIES WHERE THOSE POPULATIONS RESIDE. SPECIFICALLY, THE RE-MHAP INITIATIVE WILL AIM TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF YOUTH EXPERIENCING MENTAL HEALTH CRISES BY INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS AND YOUTH SERVING ORGANIZATIONS TO RESPOND TO THE RISKY BEHAVIORS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND SUICIDE. WITH SUPPORT FROM THE U.S. SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, THE NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION OFFICE OF STUDENT WELLNESS, AND OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS, WE WILL ACHIEVE THESE ESSENTIAL GOALS BY TARGETING RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS EDUCATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE'S (NH) HIGHEST NEED COMMUNITIES.
