FHCRC INTENDS TO FOCUS ON FAIR HOUSING EDUCATION TO INDIVIDUALS IN RIVERSIDE COUNTY WHO ARE IN HIGHEST NEED OF CRITICAL ANTI-DISCRIMINATION SERVICES.; ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: FHCRC AIMS TO ESTABLISH A PARTNERSHIP WITH A DISABILITY-FOCUSED AGENCY TO ADVANCE FAIR HOUSING ALIGNMENT WITH THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY, MEANWHILE BREAKING DOWN LEARNING BARRIERS IN THE PROCESS. REACHING CONSTITUENTS WHO NEED THE BENEFITS OF FHCRC’S SERVICES IS ESSENTIAL TO SUCCESS. ANOTHER COMPONENT IS TO TARGET ATTENDING 30 COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES AND TO EDUCATE KEY UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS. FHCRC INTENDS TO EXTEND ITS REACH BEYOND ANY SINGULAR ETHNIC TARGET. ADDITIONALLY, FHCRC EXPECTS TO CONDUCT SIX WORKSHOPS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION WITH REGARDS TO UNDERSTANDING IN DETAIL: REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS FOR PERSONS WITH A DISABILITY, NATIONAL ORIGIN DISCRIMINATION, AND FAIR LENDING PRACTICES. A UNIQUE COMPONENT OF THIS EOI WORK PLAN IS CONDUCTING ONE FAIR HOUSING MOCK TRIAL. ORGANIZING A FAIR HOUSING MOCK TRIAL SERVES AS A VALUABLE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING TOOL, IMMERSING PARTICIPANTS IN THE INTRICACIES OF FAIR HOUSING LAWS AND REGULATIONS. FURTHERMORE, FHCRC WILL CONDUCT FOUR ROUNDTABLE EVENTS TO DISCUSS EXPLICITLY THE MOST PRESSING FAIR HOUSING ISSUES THAT LOCAL FAMILIES ENCOUNTER. THE ROUNDTABLES WILL FORM THE FOUNDATION FOR ONE WHITE PAPER THAT IS INTENDED TO BE A LIVING DOCUMENT THAT CAN EDUCATE ALL HOUSING STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING: FAIR HOUSING ORGANIZATIONS, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, HOME BUYERS, REAL ESTATE PROVIDERS, PLUS HOUSING ADVOCATES.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT FAIR HOUSING RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES, ENSURING THAT INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES ARE INFORMED ABOUT THEIR LEGAL PROTECTIONS. THIS EDUCATION MAKES A MORE EQUITABLE SOCIETY AND EMPOWERS MARGINALIZED GROUPS TO ASSERT THEIR RIGHTS SOCIALLY AND LEGALLY. ADDITIONALLY, OUTREACH EFFORTS CAN HELP BRIDGE THE INFORMATION GAP BY PROVIDING RESOURCES, GUIDANCE, AND SUPPORT TO THOSE IN NEED. REDUCING HOUSING DISCRIMINATION IN ADDITION TO PROMOTING INCLUSIVE HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES BENEFIT COMMUNITIES BY FORGING CONNECTIONS WITH NEIGHBORS, LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND HOUSING ADVOCATES. FHCRC AIMS TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT FAIR LENDING PRINCIPLES, ENABLING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO MAKE INFORMED FINANCIAL DECISIONS AND ULTIMATELY CULTIVATING A COMMUNITY THAT VALUES INCLUSIVITY AND ECONOMIC FAIRNESS AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE CREATION OF A MORE JUST AND ECONOMICALLY SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY. THE ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES OF DELIVERING FAIR HOUSING EDUCATION TO VICTIMS OF NATIONAL ORIGIN DISCRIMINATION INCLUDING, RURAL COMMUNITIES AND MIGRANT FARMWORKERS, ARE ECONOMICALLY IMPACTFUL.
