NATIONAL ASIAN AMERICAN COALITION - CA TO ASSIST ALL ENTREPRENEURS BUSINESS OWNERS AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS POSSESSING THE CAPABILITY TO OPERATE SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS CONCERNS AND TO ASSIST SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS IN THOSE AREAS SUFFERING FROM A LACK OF CREDIT DUE TO ECONOMIC DOWNTURNS UNDER THE PROGRAM THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SBA WILL MAKE LOANS OR PROVIDE GUARANTIES TO PRIVATE NON PROFIT AND QUASI GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS INTERMEDIARY LENDERS THAT WILL USE THE LOAN FUNDS TO MAKE SHORT TERM FIXED INTEREST RATE MICROLOANS IN AMOUNTS UP TO 50000 DOLLARS TO START UP NEWLY ESTABLISHED AND GROWING SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS THESE MICROLOANS ARE TO BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR WORKING CAPITAL INVENTORY SUPPLIES FURNITURE FIXTURES MACHINERY AND OR EQUIPMENT IN ADDITION THE SBA WILL MAKE GRANTS TO PARTICIPATING INTERMEDIARY LENDERS TO PROVIDE MARKETING MANAGEMENT AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PROSPECTIVE BORROWERS AND BORROWERS RECEIVING MICROLOANS UNDER THE PROGRAM SBA WILL ALSO PROVIDE TRAINING FOR INTERMEDIARY LEND

THE MISSION OF THE ASIAN PACIFIC COMMUNITY FUND IS TO INVEST IN ORGANIZATIONS THAT EMPOWER UNDERSERVED ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDERS (API) TO PROSPER BY BUILDING HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES, DEVELOPING API LEADERS, CREATING A STRONGER API VOICE, AND PROVIDING THE FOUNDATION FOR A BRIGHTER TOMORROW. THIS PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, EDUCATION AND HEALTHY FUTURES PRIORITY AREAS. THIS PROJECT WILL SEEK TO BUILD THE CAPACITY OF ORGANIZATIONS SERVING LOW-INCOME AAPIS IN LA COUNTY AND EXPECTS TO BENEFIT 5,000 PEOPLE IN NEED. 13 VISTAS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY BUILDING, IMPLEMENTING, MANAGING AND IMPROVING VOLUNTEER SYSTEMS AND RECRUITMENT AS WELL AS INCREASING FINANCIAL RESOURCES, PRODUCING OUTREACH PLANS AND MATERIALS, BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS, DEVELOPING PROGRAMS AND CREATING SYSTEMS OVER THE COURSE OF 3 YEARS.
