THE RSVP OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO SPONSORED BY THE AREA OFFICE ON AGING OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO IS ACCEPTING THE INVITATION FROM THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE 2019 RSVP COMPETITION GRANT. RSVP OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO WILL FACILITATE AND DIRECT VOLUNTEER SERVICE FOR OLDER ADULT VOLUNTEERS 55 AND OLDER RESIDING IN THE TEN COUNTIES OF DEFIANCE, ERIE, FULTON, HENRY, LUCAS, OTTAWA, PAULDING, SANDUSKY, WILLIAMS, AND WOOD COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST OHIO. AN ESTIMATED 550 RSVP UNDUPLICATED VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE. OF THIS NUMBER, 207 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE COMPANIONSHIP, RESPITE CARE, FOOD DELIVERY AND DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION ON HEALTH INSURANCE, HEALTH CARE ACCESS, AND HEALTH BENEFITS PROGRAMS. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA FOR THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES. AT THE END OF THE THREE YEAR GRANT, SOME OF THE ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES WILL INCLUDE 3000 NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WITH INCREASED SOCIAL SUPPORT AND NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED IN HEALTH CARE INSURANCE PROGRAMS. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $129,222 WILL BE SUPPORTED BY THE LOCAL CONTRIBUTION OF $211,737 NON-FEDERAL RESOURCES IN MEETING COMMUNITY NEEDS THROUGH SERVICE AND VOLUNTEER ACTION.
