COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING/CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING - NON-CONSTRUCTION - THIS PROJECT WILL ASSIST IN CONTROLLING THE ACCESS AND SECURITY OF OUR FOUR RURAL COMMUNITY HOSPITALS. THIS GRANT WILL HELP PATIENT CARE, CAREGIVERS, AS WELL AS VISITORS TO OUR VARIOUS SITES OF CARE. THIS PROJECT WILL ALSO HELP SPARROW DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY PROVIDE A MORE SECURE AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT. THE RURAL COMMUNITY HOSPITALS INCLUDE THREE CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITALS AND ONE SMALL-RURAL REFERRAL HOSPITAL WHICH ARE PART OF SPARROW HEALTH SYSTEM, A LEVEL ONE TRAUMA, CENTER HEADQUARTERED IN LANSING, MI. PART OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE NEW FOR SPARROW CARSON AND SPARROW EATON HOSPITALS. NEITHER FACILITY CURRENTLY HAS WORKING ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS TO MEET OUR CURRENT STANDARDS. SPARROW CLINTON AND SPARROW IONIA HOSPITALS HAVE SOME EXISTING TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL BE EXPANDED UNDER THIS PROJECT. CAREGIVERS AND PATIENTS AT THESE RURAL FACILITIES WILL BENEFIT FROM THE ADDED NECESSARY LEVELS OF SECURITY AND PROTECTION WHICH WILL HELP TO AVOID ANY INTERRUPTIONS OF INPATIENT CARE AND ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE SERVICES.
