WITH AN ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET OF $3.4 MILLION, MNA MANAGES MULTIPLE PROGRAMS AND IS A SPONSORING ORGANIZATION FOR AMERICORPS VISTA. MNA?S PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOCUS AREAS. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO CREATE PATHWAYS FOR DISADVANTAGED YOUNG ADULTS BY SUPPORTING ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND STRENGTHENING CURRENT EMPLOYABILITY OF DISADVANTAGED ADULTS, WHICH WILL MAKE FOR STRONGER ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES. THIS PROGRAM IS EXPECTED TO BENEFIT MANY DISADVANTAGED ADULTS AND CHILDREN THROUGHOUT MICHIGAN. THIRTY-TWO VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY PERFORMING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS STRENGTHENING STAFF AND FUNDING CAPACITY, DEVELOPING OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT MATERIALS, AND CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NETWORKING AND RESOURCE SHARING OVER THE COURSE OF THREE YEARS.
