THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY PROPOSES TO HAVE 1,500 VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL ADDRESS THE VITAL NEEDS OF VETERANS, SERVICEMEMBERS, AND THEIR FAMILIES IN AREAS OF EMPLOYMENT, HOUSING AND COMMUNITY FACILITY IMPROVEMENT, HIGHER EDUCATION, AND REINTEGRATION INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES IN 50 GEOGRAPHICALLY DISPERSED COMMUNITIES ON SEPTEMBER 11 DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE. ON THE SEPTEMBER 11 DAY OF SERVICE, 1,500 VOLUNTEERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING THE CRITICAL NEEDS OF VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES. THIS PROGRAM WILL FOCUS ON THE CNCS FOCUS AREA OF VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES. FOR SEPTEMBER 11, THE CNCS INVESTMENT OF $55,750 WILL BE MATCHED WITH $34,282 IN PRIVATE FUNDING FROM THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY AND AN ADDITIONAL $12,500 IN PRIVATE FUNDING FROM COMMUNITY SITES.
