HOWEVER, MMFHC MAKES ITS COMPLAINT INTAKE AND TESTING AVAILABLE ON A STATEWIDE BASIS (AS RESOURCES ALLOW) AND WILL BE CONDUCTING SOME OUTREACH AND EDUCATION EFFORTS IN UNDERSERVED AREA, THEREBY, AVAILING THE ENTIRE STATE OF WISCONSIN TO FAIR HOUSING ENFORCEMENT SERVICES.; ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: MMFHC PROPOSES TO IMPLEMENT THE FOLLOWING FULL-SERVICE PROJECT ACTIVITIES: 1) CONDUCT TESTING IN RESPONSE TO COMPLAINTS AND AS PART OF SYSTEMIC INVESTIGATIONS OF DISCRIMINATION IN ORDER TO ADDRESS ACTS OF ILLEGAL DISCRIMINATION AND EXPAND HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES; 2) CONDUCT STATEWIDE INTAKE, INVESTIGATION, REFERRALS TO ATTORNEYS AND ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCIES, AND CASE MANAGEMENT OF FAIR HOUSING COMPLAINTS TO EXPAND STATEWIDE COORDINATED ENFORCEMENT; 3) RECRUIT AND TRAIN TESTERS STATEWIDE TO ASSIST IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF FAIR HOUSING LAWS; 4) INCREASE ACCESS AND INVOLVEMENT IN FAIR HOUSING ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FOR LATINO PERSONS TO HELP REMOVE IMPEDIMENTS TO HOUSING CHOICE; 5) EXPAND MMFHC’S RAPID RESPONSE SYSTEM TO ASSIST PERSONS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED UNLAWFUL HOUSING DISCRIMINATION AND REQUIRE IMMEDIATE LEGAL INTERVENTION IN ORDER TO RETAIN OR MAINTAIN THE HOUSING OF THEIR CHOICE.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: EXPECTED OUTCOMES: 1) IDENTIFY UNLAWFUL HOUSING PRACTICES THROUGH TESTING WHICH MAY BE USED AS EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT COMPLAINTS FILED WITH HUD, OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCIES AND/OR AS PART OF LAWSUITS. SUBSEQUENTLY, THIS WILL RESULT IN AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF ADMINISTRATIVE OR JUDICIAL FILINGS AND EXPANSION OF HOUSING CHOICE FOR POPULATIONS VULNERABLE TO DISCRIMINATION; 2) PROVIDE STATEWIDE ACCESS TO INTAKE, TESTING AND REFERRALS OF COMPLAINTS. PURPOSE: THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT, ENTITLED INTERACTION FOR ACTION, IS TO ENGAGE FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND RELIGIOUS CONGREGATIONS TO FURTHER FAIR HOUSING IN THEIR COMMUNITIES AND ASSIST UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS, PARTICULARLY RELIGIOUS MINORITIES, WHO ARE VULNERABLE TO ACTS OF HOUSING DISCRIMINATION IN WISCONSIN.; ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: EDUCATE AND INVOLVE FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND RELIGIOUS CONGREGATIONS IN FAIR HOUSING ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE THAT UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS IN WISCONSIN HAVE ACCESS TO HOUSING WITHOUT FACING OBSTACLES OF DISCRIMINATION AND HATE INCIDENTS; CONDUCT A STATEWIDE SYMPOSIUM FOR FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND CONGREGATIONS THROUGHOUT WISCONSIN TO EDUCATE THEM ON WAYS THEY CAN AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHER FAIR HOUSING IN THEIR COMMUNITIES; CONDUCT AN OUTREACH CAMPAIGN TO ASSIST UNDERSERVED PERSONS IDENTIFY HOUSING DISCRIMINATION; AND, ADDRESS HATE-RELATED INCIDENTS, PARTICULARLY AGAINST UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: RELIGIOUS MINORITIES AND OTHER UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS WILL HAVE COMPREHENSIVE FAIR HOUSING INFORMATION TO ENABLE THEM TO EXERCISE THEIR FAIR HOUSING RIGHTS AND LIVE IN THE HOUSING OF THEIR CHOICE, FREE FROM DISCRIMINATION AND HATE; CONGREGATIONS AND FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE EQUIPPED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO PERSONS EXPERIENCING DISCRIMINATION AND HELP AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHER FAIR HOUSING IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES; INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS, INCLUDING RELIGIOUS MINORITIES, REFUGEES AND LGBTQ+ PERSONS IN WISCONSIN AND PERSONS IN COMMUNITIES THAT ARE NOT SERVED BY A LOCAL OR PRIVATE FAIR HOUSING AGENCY.; SUBRECIPIENT ACTIVITIES: NONE
