GOODWILL OF CENTRAL IOWA'S MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS BY PROVIDING SKILLS TRAINING AND HELPING PEOPLE FIND JOBS. THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOCUS AREA. THE GOODWILL VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO IDENTIFY COLLABORATIVE AND HOLISTIC PROGRAMMING THAT SUPPORTS SKILLS TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FOLLOWING CONSTITUENCIES: RE-ENTERING CITIZENS, YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES AND REFUGEES & IMMIGRANTS AS WELL AS DEVELOP A PIPELINE OF VOLUNTEERS AND MARKETING AND OUTREACH STRATEGIES TO SUPPORT THEM. THESE PROGRAMS EXPECT TO BENEFIT 100 PEOPLE IN IT'S FIRST YEAR. 5 VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY PERFORMING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS NEEDS ASSESSMENT, VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT, PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR.
