THE ASPIRE PARTNERSHIP VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING/CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO WORK WITH INMATES IN A MISSOURI CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION OR PAROLEES FROM THOSE INSTITUTIONS IN THE CONSTRUCTION FIELD. THE PARTICIPANTS IN THIS PROGRAM WILL BE TAUGHT CONSTRUCTION SKILLS BY THE JOINT APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM OF THE CARPENTERS UNION. THEY WILL BE PROVIDED CERTIFICATES FROM TRAININGS INCLUDING OSHA 10. THEY WILL THEN CONSTRUCT HOMES FOR LOWER INCOME INDIVIDUALS TO PURCHASE EITHER IN THE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY OR AT LOTS PURCHASED BY HOME BUYERS. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE TRAINING AND THEIR RELEASE IF INSTITUTIONALIZED, THEY WILL BE LINKED TO THE SIGNATORY CONTRACTORS OF THE UNION FOR EMPLOYMENT.
