PURPOSE: INITIALLY COMPETITIVELY REVIEWED IN 2017, THIS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT IS FUNDED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING MANUFACTURING EXTENSION SERVICES TO NORTH DAKOTA SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED MANUFACTURES (SMM). ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: IMPACT DAKOTA WILL EXPAND ITS SERVICE OFFERINGS ? BOTH WITH INTERNAL STAFF CAPABILITIES AND EXTERNAL THIRD PARTY CONTRACTORS ? TO BE ABLE TO FULFILL A MAJORITY OF MANUFACTURER?S NEEDS, REGARDLESS OF SIZE OR LOCATION. NEW SERVICE DEVELOPMENT WILL ALSO INCLUDE THE MODE OF SERVICE DELIVERY. WHENEVER POSSIBLE, PROGRAMMING WILL BE PROVIDED VIRTUALLY IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO REACH MORE OF THE VERY SMALL AND RURAL BUSINESSES. EXPANDED SERVICE PROGRAMMING WILL ALSO SUPPORT THE CENTER?S FOCUS ON MEETING NIST MEP METRICS REQUIREMENTS.EXPECTED OUTCOMES: IMPACT DAKOTA HAS LONG BEEN A LEADER IN LEAN MANUFACTURING TRAINING AND IMPLEMENTATION, AND WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE NEEDS OF BUSINESS IN THIS AREA. HOWEVER, BUSINESSES HAVE IDENTIFIED AREAS OF CRITICAL NEEDS THAT IMPACT DAKOTA WILL WORK WITH OTHER ENTITIES IN ORDER TO HELP SMMS ADDRESS THESE NEEDS. THESE AREAS OF FOCUS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: WORKFORCE ATTRACTION, DEVELOPMENT AND RETENTION; SUPPLY CHAIN OPTIMIZATION; CYBERSECURITY PROTECTION; INDUSTRY 4.0 / AUTOMATION; ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE. IMPROVE THE RESILIENCY AND OPTIMIZATION FOR DOMESTIC SUPPLY CHAINS IN THE MEP NATIONAL NETWORK IN THE STATE OF NORTH DAKOTA.ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: THE PROJECT WILL DEDICATE ONE FULL TIME EQUIVALENT (FTE) STAFF FOCUSED ON SUPPLY CHAIN OPTIMIZATION AND INTELLIGENCE NETWORK. ENHANCE EXISTING SYSTEMS AND TEAM TO COLLECT AND ANALYZE SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED MANUFACTURERS (SMM) CAPABILITY AND CAPACITY DATA TO MAP NORTH DAKOTA SUPPLY NETWORK ECOSYSTEM. IDENTIFY KEY ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS (OEMS) GAPS TO HELP FILL THOSE NEEDS BY CONNECTING SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED MANUFACTURES (SMMS) TO THESE OPPORTUNITIES AND TRACKING SMM RESULTS OF MATCHES, INTRODUCTIONS, AND SERVICES BY IMPACT DAKOTA. ESTABLISH NEW SERVICE OFFERINGS TO AUGMENT AND OPTIMIZE CURRENT NATIONAL AND LOCAL SUPPLIER NETWORK CAPABILITIES.EXPECTED OUTCOMES: HAVE AN EFFECTIVE PROCESS TO RECEIVE, REVIEW AND MATCH MEP NATIONAL NETWORK SUPPLIER SCOUTING REQUESTS TO NORTH DAKOTA MANUFACTURING ECOSYSTEM CAPABILITIES AND CAPACITIES TO PROVIDE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW AND DIVERSIFY NORTH DAKOTA SMMS ORGANIZATIONS. OEMS SEEKING SUPPLIERS WILL BE CLOSING GAPS IN THEIR NEEDED INPUTS TO MEET THEIR OWN ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS AND SATISFY DEMAND OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. HAVE ENHANCED SUPPLY CHAIN ASSESSMENT AND ADDITIONAL SUPPORT SERVICE OFFERINGS FOR MANUFACTURERS.
