THE PURPOSE OF THIS GRANT IS TO RECRUIT, TRAIN, COORDINATE, PLACE, AND MAINTAIN VOLUNTEERS AT VARIOUS COVID RECOVERY SITES TO ASSIST IN SERVICE DELIVERY AT VACCINATION SITES, COVID RELIEF SITES, AND OTHER COMMUNITY IDENTIFIED SITES RELATED TO RECOVERING FROM THIS PANDEMIC. TO DO THIS, YOU WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING HIGH LEVEL ACTIVITIES: DEVELOP A COMMUNITY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN EMPHASIZING THE NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS IN THE FIGHT TO RECOVER; ASSIST HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS IN PROMOTING AND PROVIDING VACCINATIONS AND HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS; AND RECRUIT VOLUNTERS TO ASSIST FOOD BANKS, FOOD PANTRIES, AND OTHER AGENCIES ADDRESSING THE LACK OF FOOD RESOURCES DURING THE PANDEMIC. THIS WILL BENEFIT THE PEOPLE IN PEORIA AND TAZWELL COUNTIES. THE GENERAL EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE INCREASED FOOD SECURITY AND INCREASED EFFICIENCY, EFFECTIVENESS, AND PROGRAM REACH. YOUR 2021-22 STATUTORY MATCH IS WAIVED AND YOUR BUDGETARY MATCH IS 0.0%. THIS ONE-TIME ARP FUNDING MUST BE SPENT BY THE END OF THE APPROVED BUDGET PERIOD. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY BY SUCCESSFULLY AWARDING THIS APPLICATION, THE CENTER FOR YOUTH AND FAMILY SOLUTIONS (CYFS), WILL CONTINUE TO EXPAND MEANINGFUL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE OVER THE AGE OF 55 WITHIN PEORIA AND TAZEWELL COUNTIES. AS WELL AS PROVIDING CRITICAL SERVICES TO TARGET UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS AND INITIATIVES; INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES, VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND SENIORS EXPERIENCING ISOLATION AND FOOD INSECURITY. IN ADDITION, VOLUNTEERS WILL WORK TO BETTER COMMUNITIES THROUGH DEVELOPING AND PARTICIPATING IN ENVIRONMENTAL BETTERMENT THROUGH RECYCLING AND LITTER ABATEMENT. IF AWARDED, CYFS ANTICIPATES HAVING A MINIMUM OF 58 VOLUNTEER PARTICIPANTS PROVIDING SERVICES THROUGH THE FOCUS AREAS OF HEALTHY FUTURES/ACCESS TO CARE, HEALTHY FUTURES/OBESITY AND FOOD, VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES, AND AT RICK ECOSYSTEMS. THE VOLUNTEERS WILL CERTAINLY MAKE A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN NOT ONLY THEIR OWN LIVES BUT THE LIVES OF OTHER INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN THE COMMUNITIES THAT WE SERVE. WITH THE FOUR RELATED WORK PLANS SPECIFIC TO THESE FOCUS AREAS, WE EXPECT TO SHOW TANGIBLE AND DEFINABLE OUTCOMES RELATED TO THE SERVICES PROVIDED. WE WILL BE CONTINUALLY BUILDING CAPACITY, BY ACTIVELY RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS THROUGH MULTIPLE COMMUNITY OUTREACH STRATEGIES AS WELL AS ENGAGING NEW SENIOR VOLUNTEERS THROUGH EXISTING RSVP VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE HAD A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS WE HAVE EMPHASIZED SPECIFIC PLANS FOR RECRUITMENT, TRAINING AND RETENTION. FUNDING FOR THE RSVP PROGRAM WILL BE FROM THE FEDERAL GRANT AND WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED FROM DEPARTMENT ON AGING FUNDS SET ASIDE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE RSVP GRANT MATCH AND/OR MATCH FROM THE SPONSORING AGENCY. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WILL BE IN KIND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AND OTHER DONATIONS TO SUPPORT THE PROJECT. FOCUS AREAS BREAKDOWN ? HEALTHY FUTURES O ACCESS TO CARE: H1- # OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE UNINSURED, ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED, MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED, OR LIVING IN RURAL AREAS UTILIZING PREVENTIVE AND PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES OR PROGRAMS.
