New England Humane Society has four parts to its mission: Rescue Heal Adopt Educate. Rescue: NEHS attempts to save animals who are in high-kill shelters and are on the verge of being euthanized due to pet over population. We also rescue those pets that can no longer be cared for by their owners. Heal: Our organization is focused on the well0being of all animals. We assist in rehabilitating and the healing of the abused or neglected animals. Once the animal is healthy in addition to food shelter and medical treatment they receive nurturing care. Adopt: We make every effort to find a compatible "forever home" for each animal in our care. Educate: We aspire to increase public awareness of a domestic animal over-population issues and to solicit their help in promoting responsible pet ownership.
