THE COLLECTION OF 500 WORDS AND PHRASES AS WELL AS SIMPLE CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN SPEAKERS WILL BE USED TO CREATE A WEBSITE FOR L/DAKOTA LANGUAGE LEARNERS. THIS WEBSITE WILL BE FREE FOR L/DAKOTA YOUTH AND THERE WILL BE A FEE FOR NON-TRIBAL LANGUAGE LEARNERS.] [PURPOSE:?THE PURPOSE OF THIS GRANT IS TO FUND A NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION IN SOUTH DAKOTA TO CREATE AN AUDIBLE DICTIONARY FOR THE L/DAKOTA LANGUAGE.  ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: THIS GRANT FUNDS PROJECT STAFF AND LANGUAGE EXPERTS WHO WILL GATHER VOICE RECORDINGS OF NATIVE AND FLUENT L/DAKOTA SPEAKERS FROM ALL NINE SOUTH DAKOTA NATIVE RESERVATIONS.
