THIS PLAN WILL ARTICULATE THE STUDYS METHODOLOGY IN DETAIL SPECIFYING DATA SOURCES COLLECTION METHODS SUCH AS GIS MAPPING SURVEYS INTERVIEWS AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES INCLUDING STATISTICAL AND CASE STUDY EVALUATION. APPLICATION PURPOSE: SUMC WILL CONDUCT A COMPREHENSIVE EMPIRICAL STUDY OF SAFETY AND EQUITY OUTCOMES OF SHARED MOBILITY ON THE TRANSPORTATION DISADVANTAGED POPULATIONS AND PRODUCE RELATED MATERIALS TO SUPPORT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PROFESSIONALS AS THEY SEEK TO DEPLOY SHARED MOBILITY SOLUTIONS IN WAYS THAT PROMOTE SAFETY AND ADVANCE EQUITABLE OUTCOMES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.; ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: THE ACTIVITIES ARE CENTERED ON FIVE PRINCIPAL COMPONENTS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF THE CURRENT STATE OF SHARED MOBILITY AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR SAFETY AND EQUITY AS WELL AS CREATING TOOLS AND RESOURCES FOR USE BY PRACTITIONERS SEEKING TO EMPLOY LESSONS LEARNED FROM THIS STUDY. ---LITERATURE REVIEW. THIS COMPONENT WILL EXAMINE EXISTING RESEARCH ON SHARED MOBILITY FOCUSING ON SAFETY AND EQUITY DIMENSIONS. THE AIM IS TO SPOT RESEARCH GAPS AND DEFINE THE EMPIRICAL STUDYS FRAMEWORK. SUMC WILL ENRICH THIS LITERATURE REVIEW THROUGH CONSULTATIONS WITH EXPERTS INCLUDING ACADEMICS AND PRACTITIONERS DEEPLY INVOLVED IN THE NEXUS OF SAFETY EQUITY AND SHARED MOBILITY TO ENSURE A ROBUST FOUNDATION FOR THE STUDY.---DEVELOPMENT OF A RESEARCH PLAN. THIS PLAN WILL ARTICULATE THE STUDYS METHODOLOGY IN DETAIL SPECIFYING DATA SOURCES COLLECTION METHODS SUCH AS GIS MAPPING SURVEYS INTERVIEWS AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES INCLUDING STATISTICAL AND CASE STUDY EVALUATION. THE RESEARCH PLAN WILL BE A LIVING DOCUMENT RESPONSIVE TO FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS FROM THE FTA AND SUBJECT TO REFINEMENT THROUGH EXPERT CRITIQUES.---CATALOG OF CASE STUDIES. THIS CATALOG WILL DOCUMENT DIVERSE SHARED MOBILITY MODES AND THE EQUITY AND SAFETY CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES EACH PRESENTS. IT WILL BE COMPLEMENTED BY DETAILED CASE STUDIES SHOWCASING INSTANCES WHERE SHARED MOBILITY INITIATIVES HAVE SUCCESSFULLY ADDRESSED THESE CHALLENGES PROVIDING A REPOSITORY OF BEST PRACTICES AND LESSONS LEARNED AND IMPLEMENTING ACTIONABLE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ENHANCING EQUITY AND SAFETY OUTCOMES. ---EQUITY AND SAFETY ANALYSIS TOOL. THIS TOOL WILL EMPOWER COMMUNITIES TO EVALUATE THE IMPACTS OF SHARED MOBILITY SERVICES AND IDENTIFY KEY METRICS RELEVANT TO THEIR SPECIFIC CONDITIONS. ---SYNTHESIZE ALL FINDINGS AND INSIGHTS FROM THE PROJECT INTO A FINAL REPORT. THIS COMPREHENSIVE DOCUMENT WILL SUMMARIZE THE STUDYS KEY OUTCOMES OFFERING IN-DEPTH ANALYSES OF THE IMPACT OF SHARED MOBILITY ON DISADVANTAGED POPULATIONS. THE FINAL REPORT WILL INCLUDE AN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY SECTION THAT CAN BE PRESENTED AS A STAND-ALONE DOCUMENT.
