AS THE NATION’S LEADING, NATIONWIDE, VOLUNTARY HEALTH ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON CANCER, THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY (ACS) IS IDEALLY POSITIONED TO PROVIDE CAPACITY BUILDING ASSISTANCE (CBA) TO COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS (CATEGORY C- PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM COMPONENTS) TOWARDS THE REDUCTION OF DISPARITIES IN CANCER PREVENTION AND SCREENING. ACS HAS DECADES-LONG HISTORY OF PROVIDING CAPACITY BUILDING ASSISTANCE TO COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS (CHCS), INCLUDING EDUCATION ON QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROCESSES, ACTIVITIES TO ADVANCE HEALTH EQUITY, AND DEVELOPMENT AND DISSEMINATION OF EVIDENCED-BASED RESOURCES. BROAD, NATIONAL DISSEMINATION OF CBA WILL BE ACCELERATED THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF 139 ACS FIELD TEAM MEMBERS WHO WORK WITH MORE THAN 344 CHCS (INCLUDING INDIAN HEALTH CLINICS), 50 STATE PRIMARY CARE ASSOCIATIONS, AND 50 STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. OUR TEAM’S LONGSTANDING AND TRUSTED RELATIONSHIPS WILL FACILITATE A SEAMLESS AND IMMEDIATE INTEGRATION OF CAPACITY BUILDING ASSISTANCE MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS FUNDING OPPORTUNITY. ACS WILL MEASURE THE IMPACT OF CBA THROUGH PROGRESS TOWARDS THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES: SHORT-TERM - INCREASING AVAILABILITY OF AND ACCESS TO CBA SERVICES AND PRODUCTS [AT CHCS] THAT ADDRESS POLICY AND PROGRAMS [TO IMPROVE CANCER OUTCOMES AND REDUCE CANCER INEQUITIES]; AND INTERMEDIATE - INCREASED AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF RECOMMENDED PROCESSES, POLICIES, PROGRAMS, AND PRACTICES [WITHIN CHC POLICY AND PROGRAMS TO IMPROVE CANCER OUTCOMES AND REDUCE CANCER INEQUITIES]. TO ACHIEVE THESE OUTCOMES, ACS WILL EXECUTE ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE STRATEGIC AREA OF “POLICY AND PROGRAMS” TO EMPOWER CHCS TO DEVELOP, IMPROVE, AND USE EVIDENCE-BASED AND PROMISING PRACTICES IN POLICIES, PROCESSES, AND PROGRAMS AIMED AT IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY, ADDRESSING DISPARITIES, AND INCREASING EQUITY. OVER 70 MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS COLLABORATE UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY AND THE CDC TO ADVANCE HPV VACCINATION. THE HPV ROUNDTABLE AND ITS MEMBERS HAVE EFFECTIVELY RAISED AWARENESS AND BUILT MOMENTUM AROUND HPV CANCER PREVENTION. OVER THE LAST SEVEN YEARS WE HAVE DRIVEN NATIONAL CONVERSATIONS AND CATALYZED ACTION THROUGH CONVENING AND GALVANIZING STAKEHOLDERS, CREATING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS, AND DISSEMINATING EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS AND PROMISING PRACTICES. IN THE COMING 5 YEARS, OR HPV ROUNDTABLE 2.0, COALITION EFFORTS WILL ACTIVELY ENGAGE KEY EXTERNAL AUDIENCES FOR MAXIMUM IMPACT. THE WORK HAS EVOLVED FROM INFLUENCING PROVIDERS AND PARENTS TO INFLUENCING HEALTH SYSTEMS, THEIR LEADERSHIP, AND THE HEALTH PLANS THAT INFLUENCE ADOLESCENT VACCINATION MEASURES.2020 PUT A SPOTLIGHT ON RACIAL INJUSTICES AND THE HPV ROUNDTABLE MADE A COMMITMENT TO BETTER ADDRESS HEALTH EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN OUR WORK. ACS WILL MEASURE THE IMPACT OF TTA THROUGH PROGRESS TOWARDS THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES: SHORT-TERM OUTCOMES: INCREASED REACH OF TTA ACTIVITIES TO NCCCP RECIPIENTS; AND INCREASED KNOWLEDGE, AWARENESS AND ATTITUDES REGARDING EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS AND RESOURCES THAT AID IMPLEMENTATION; INTERMEDIATE OUTCOME: INCREASED ADOPTION OF STRATEGIES AND EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS TO IMPROVE AND SUSTAIN NCCCP RECIPIENTS’ EFFORTS; AND LONG-TERM OUTCOME: INCREASED CAPACITY, REACH, UTILIZATION, IMPACT AND SUSTAINABILITY OF NCCCP RECIPIENTS. TO SUCCESSFULLY MEET THESE OUTCOMES, ACS WILL IMPLEMENT A ROBUST TTA PLAN WHICH INCLUDES CONDUCTING REGULAR COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE (COPS), DELIVERING HIGH-QUALITY TRAININGS AND DEVELOPING DATA DRIVEN, EVIDENCE-BASED, APPLICATION-FOCUSED RESOURCES ON APPROACHES THAT IMPACT HEALTH EQUITY BY ADDRESSING SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH AND SPANS THE CANCER CONTINUUM; REQUIRE COLLABORATION ACROSS MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONAL SECTORS; AND OPERATE AT THE POLICY, SYSTEMS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE LEVEL TO MAXIMIZE IMPACT AND ENSURE SUSTAINABILITY. WE ARE WORKING TO BETTER REFLECT THE DIVERSITY OF ALL AMERICANS IN OUR MEMBERSHIP AND TO CLOSE CANCER DISPARITY GAPS THROUGH VACCINATING EVERY ADOLESCENT CHILD ON TIME.THE THREE PRIMARY STRATEGIES FOR HPV ROUNDTABLE 2.0 REPRESENT SMART BUT STRATEGIC GROWTH BUILT UP FROM THE EXISTING PLATFORM: (1) MAINTAIN, EXPAND, AND STRENGTHEN THE NETWORK OF KEY STAKEHOLDERS, WITH A FOCUS ON EQUITY AND ON STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS THROUGH MULTIPLE CHANNELS, (2) CONVENE MEMBERS AND CATALYZE ACTION IN THEIR ORGANIZATIONS TO INCREASE HPV VACCINATION THROUGH BEST AND PROMISING PRACTICES, AND (3) ADDRESS PRIORITY ISSUES AND ACTIVITIES THROUGH TASK GROUPS, FORUMS, COMMITTEES, TOOLS AND RESOURCES.ACS IS UNIQUELY POSITIONED TO CONTINUE SERVING AS CONVENER OF THE HPV ROUNDTABLE. OUR ORGANIZATION HAS A STRONG HISTORY OF BRINGING COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS TOGETHER FOR CANCER PREVENTION, APPLYING EVIDENCE-BASED STRATEGIES AND RESOURCES, AND DISSEMINATING AND PROMOTING MESSAGES, TOOLS, AND RESOURCES TO PROVIDERS AND TO THE PUBLIC, INCLUDING HARD-TO-REACH AND UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS. ACS HAS BEEN A LEADER IN HPV CANCER PREVENTION AND IN MANAGING NATIONAL ROUNDTABLES. THE HPV ROUNDTABLE STAFF TEAM HAS PROVIDED THE LEADERSHIP, STRATEGIES, AND DAY-TO-DAY MANAGEMENT OF THE ROUNDTABLE AND ITS ACTIVITIES FOR THE PAST SEVEN YEARS. AS THE NATION’S LEADING, NATIONWIDE, VOLUNTARY HEALTH ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON CANCER, THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY (ACS) IS IDEALLY POSITIONED TO DESIGN AND DELIVER TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TTA) TO FUNDED RECIPIENTS OF THE CDC NATIONAL COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CONTROL PROGRAM (NCCCP). ACS HAS WORKED COLLABORATIVELY WITH CDC TO DELIVER TTA TO NCCCP RECIPIENTS FOR OVER 25 YEARS. BUILDING ON OUR SUCCESSES, COUPLED WITH EXTENSIVE SUBJECT-MATTER EXPERTISE FROM ACROSS OUR ORGANIZATION, ACS WILL DELIVER TIMELY AND INNOVATIVE TTA THAT EMPOWERS NCCCP RECIPIENTS TO IMPLEMENT POLICY, SYSTEMS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE STRATEGIES FROM THEIR JURISDICTIONAL CANCER PLANS. ACS WILL MEASURE THE IMPACT OF TTA THROUGH PROGRESS TOWARDS THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES: SHORT-TERM OUTCOMES: INCREASED REACH OF TTA ACTIVITIES TO NCCCP RECIPIENTS; AND INCREASED KNOWLEDGE, AWARENESS AND ATTITUDES REGARDING EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS AND RESOURCES THAT AID IMPLEMENTATION; INTERMEDIATE OUTCOME: INCREASED ADOPTION OF STRATEGIES AND EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS TO IMPROVE AND SUSTAIN NCCCP RECIPIENTS’ EFFORTS; AND LONG-TERM OUTCOME: INCREASED CAPACITY, REACH, UTILIZATION, IMPACT AND SUSTAINABILITY OF NCCCP RECIPIENTS. TO SUCCESSFULLY MEET THESE OUTCOMES, ACS WILL IMPLEMENT A ROBUST TTA PLAN WHICH INCLUDES CONDUCTING REGULAR COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE (COPS), DELIVERING HIGH-QUALITY TRAININGS AND DEVELOPING DATA DRIVEN, EVIDENCE-BASED, APPLICATION-FOCUSED RESOURCES ON APPROACHES THAT IMPACT HEALTH EQUITY BY ADDRESSING SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH AND SPANS THE CANCER CONTINUUM; REQUIRE COLLABORATION ACROSS MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONAL SECTORS; AND OPERATE AT THE POLICY, SYSTEMS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE LEVEL TO MAXIMIZE IMPACT AND ENSURE SUSTAINABILITY. ACS WILL UTILIZE ITS BROAD BASE OF SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS IN CANCER PREVENTION, SCREENING, EARLY DETECTION, TREATMENT, SURVIVORSHIP, HEALTH EQUITY, RESEARCH, EVALUATION, SURVEILLANCE, ADVOCACY AND CLINICAL CARE, AS WELL AS THE EXPERTISE THROUGHOUT LEADERSHIP OF THE ACS’S SIX NATIONAL CANCER ROUNDTABLES, AND STAFF MEMBERS FROM ACROSS THE NATION WHO LIAISE WITH STATE CANCER COALITIONS, TO COLLABORATE IN DELIVERY OF TTA TO NCCCP RECIPIENTS.
