FIRST HUNT FOUNDATION S PROPOSAL AIMS TO ADDRESS THE UNDERREPRESENTATION OF FEMALES GENERALLY, AND MORE SPECIFICALLY NATIVE AMERICAN FEMALES, IN HUNTING ACTIVITIES BY DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM THAT PROMOTES INCLUSIVITY, SKILL DEVELOPMENT, AND COMMUNITY BUILDING. THROUGH THE PROVISION OF GRANT FUNDING, OUR INITIATIVE SEEKS TO EMPOWER NATIVE AND NON-NATIVE FEMALES BY CREATING A SUPPORTIVE AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS THEIR PARTICIPATION AND SUCCESS IN THE TRADITIONALLY MALE-DOMINATED FIELD OF HUNTING.THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS PROPOSAL OUTLINE A MULTIFACETED APPROACH WHERE OUR SHARE THE HERITAGE PROGRAM WILL ESTABLISH FEMALE-ONLY HUNTING WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS, PROVIDING A COMFORTABLE AND ENCOURAGING ENVIRONMENT TO LEARN ESSENTIAL HUNTING SKILLS. THESE WILL BE CONDUCTED ON PRIVATE, PUBLIC, AND TRIBAL LANDS TO INCREASE ACCESS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS. EACH EVENT WILL COVER TOPICS SUCH AS FIREARM SAFETY, ETHICAL HUNTING PRACTICES, TRIBE SPECIFIC POST-HARVEST TRADITIONS, GAME IDENTIFICATION, TRACKING, FIELD DRESSING, MEAT PROCESSING, AND WILD GAME RECIPE SUGGESTIONS. ADDITIONALLY, WE WILL ORGANIZE MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS PAIRING NEW AND NOVICE HUNTERS WITH EXPERIENCED FEMALE HUNTERS TO FACILITATE KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER AND PERSONAL GROWTH.TO ENSURE THE SUSTAINABILITY OF OUR EFFORTS, WE WILL CONTINUE TO ESTABLISH PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES, TRIBES AND BOTH PRIVATE AND GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS TO SECURE FUNDING, EQUIPMENT, AND RESOURCES. THESE COLLABORATIONS WILL ENABLE US TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FEMALES WHO FACE ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION, MAKING HUNTING ACCESSIBLE TO A DIVERSE RANGE OF INDIVIDUALS.ULTIMATELY, THIS PROJECT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO A MORE INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE HUNTING LANDSCAPE, BENEFITTING BOTH FEMALES AND THE BROADER HUNTING COMMUNITY.
