ITVS HUMANITIES DOCUMENTARY FILM FELLOWSHIP FOR PANDEMIC-AFFECTED FILMMAKERS AND HUMANITIES SCHOLARS [ITVS HUMANITIES DOCUMENTARY FILM FELLOWSHIP FOR PANDEMIC-AFFECTED FILMMAKERS WILL PROVIDE 12-MONTH STIPENDS TO 20 INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKERS AND 10 CONTENT ADVISORS WHO WORK IN THE HUMANITIES, HAVE BEEN UNEMPLOYED OR UNDEREMPLOYED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, AND REPRESENT DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS, ETHNICITIES, AND POINTS OF VIEW. THE GOALS OF THIS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM ARE TO: 1) REMEDY PANDEMIC-DRIVEN IMPACTS THAT THREATEN TO DERAIL THE CAREERS OF DIVERSE DOCUMENTARIANS WORKING IN THE HUMANITIES; 2) ADDRESS PANDEMIC-DRIVEN DISRUPTION TO THE PIPELINE OF ESSENTIAL HUMANITIES DOCUMENTARIES FROM THIS FILMMAKING COMMUNITY; AND 3) SUPPORT THE ADVANCEMENT OF A NEW GENERATION OF UNDEREMPLOYED AND UNDERREPRESENTED FILMMAKERS WHO ARE TELLING IMPORTANT MISSING STORIES IN THE HUMANITIES DOCUMENTARY FIELD AT A TIME WHEN MORE INCLUSIVE, SUPPORTED, AND SUSTAINABLE VOICES ARE NEEDED.] [PURPOSE: EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKERS WORKING IN THE HUMANITIES. ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: ADMINISTRATION OF A GRANTMAKING PROGRAM COMPRISED OF 20 12-MONTH STIPENDS OF $68,000. THIS PROGRAM WILL ALSO CONVENE HUMANITIES CONTENT ADVISORS TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS DEVELOPING OR ADVANCING PROMISING HUMANITIES TELEVISION FILM PROJECTS AND TO POSITION THOSE SUBRECIPIENTS FOR FUTURE FUNDING AND DISTRIBUTION OPPORTUNITIES.
