AS PART OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATIONS (EDA) AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN (ARP) RECOVERY ASSISTANCE, THIS INVESTMENT IS FUNDED THROUGH EDAS STATEWIDE PLANNING PROGRAMONE OF SIX PROGRAMS EDA DEVELOPED TO EQUITABLY DISTRIBUTE ITS $3 BILLION IN ARP FUNDING. TO FURTHER HELP INVEST IN AMERICAS COMMUNITIES, EDA WILL AWARD $24 MILLION IN GRANTS TO STATES AND TERRITORIES ACROSS THE NATION FOR STATEWIDE PLANNING EFFORTS TO BOOST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, COMBAT THE CLIMATE CRISIS, AND RECOVER FROM THE PANDEMIC. ALL 59 STATES AND TERRITORIES HAVE BEEN INVITED TO APPLY FOR A $1 MILLION GRANT, AND THIS $1 MILLION STATEWIDE PLANNING GRANT WILL BE USED TO LAY THE GROUNDWORK FOR PRESIDENT BIDENS BUILD BACK BETTER AGENDA TO BUILD RESILIENT ECONOMIES AND INCREASE U.S. COMPETITIVENESS, WHICH IS GIVING STATES AND TERRITORIES THE UNPRECEDENTED OPPORTUNITY TO BRING ALL THEIR COMMUNITIES TOGETHER TO DEVELOP COMPREHENSIVE PLANS TO BUILD BACK BETTER AND STRONGER.
