A TASK FORCE WILL USE THE RESULTS TO RECOMMEND CHANGES, WHICH PROJECT STAFF AND BODIES SUCH AS THE ACCREDITATION COMMISSION MAY INCORPORATE INTO STANDARDS, PEER REVIEWER TRAINING, AND RELATED ASSESSMENT PROGRAMMING. STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AND BOARD MEMBERS AT PARTICIPATING MUSEUMS ARE GUIDED THROUGH A PROCESS THAT INCLUDES SELF-ASSESSMENT WORKBOOKS, INSTITUTIONAL ACTIVITIES, AND A SITE VISIT BY A MUSEUM PEER WHO PROVIDES GUIDANCE, RECOMMENDATIONS, AND RESOURCES FOR IMPROVEMENTS. AAM INTENDS TO PROMOTE, MANAGE, AND EVALUATE THREE CYCLES OF STANDARD MAP ASSESSMENTS AND THREE CYCLES OF FOLLOW-UP ASSESSMENTS.
