THE NEW COORDINATOR WILL HELP THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY RELATIONS WITH DEIA INITIATIVES PLANNED FOR THE COMING YEARS. THE MUSEUM'S CURRENT DEIA PROGRAM HAS TWO MAIN COMPONENTS: EXTERNAL (INCLUSIVE PUBLIC PROGRAMMING AND PRESENTATION/ACQUISITION OF CULTURALLY AND ETHNICALLY DIVERSE ART/ARTISTS) AND INTERNAL (BOARD AND STAFF TRAINING, ORGANIZATIONAL AND INFRASTRUCTURE CHANGES, CREATIVE POLICIES, AND ACCESS FOR ALL). CURRENT DEIA ACTIVITIES THAT THE COORDINATOR WILL HELP EXPAND INCLUDE MONTHLY PROGRAMS, STUDY AIDS, MEETINGS WITH OTHER DEIA COMMUNITY GROUPS, CONFERENCE PARTICIPATION, AND TRAINING WORKSHOPS. THIS WORK WILL AID THE MUSEUM IN ITS RECOVERY FROM THE IMPACTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AS WELL AS STRENGTHEN THE MUSEUM'S COMMITMENT TO PRESENTING THE HIGHEST CALIBER OF PROGRAMMING, OUTREACH, ART EDUCATION, AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT, AND TRANSFORMATIVE EXPERIENCES FOR ITS COMMUNITY.
