THESE THREATS ARE LARGELY AGAINST AMERICANS RIGHTS TO HUNT AND FISH AND ARE PREDOMINANTLY NARRATED BY THE ANIMAL RIGHTS MOVEMENT. THE ANIMAL RIGHTS MOVEMENT HAS UNFORTUNATELY SEEN SUBSTANTIAL GROWTH- IN THE LATE 1990S, THERE WERE ONLY ONE OR TWO ANIMAL LAW COURSES BEING TAUGHT AT U.S. LAW SCHOOLS BY 2007, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY SEVENTY, WITH MOST OF THE NATION S ELITE LAW SCHOOLS REPRESENTED. TODAY, THERE ARE AN ESTIMATE 167 LAW SCHOOLS IN THE U.S. AND CANADA THAT OFFER AT LEAST ONE ANIMAL LAW COURSE- A MAJORITY OF WHICH INDICATE TEACHING THE CONCEPTS OF ANIMAL RIGHTS AND ANIMAL PERSONHOOD.TO COMBAT SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS AND AN ILL-INFORMED SOCIETY WHO THREATEN MODERN CONSERVATION, THE PROGRAM OFFERS STUDENTS, LAWYERS, AND JUDGES THE OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY CONSERVATION LAW, NOT IDEOLOGIES. THE HUNT FOR GOOD (HFG) CAMPAIGN IS A COMPREHENSIVE AND CUSTOMIZABLE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN DESIGNED TO INCREASE NATIONWIDE CULTURAL SUPPORT FOR LEGAL, REGULATED HUNTING AMONGST NON-HUNTERS THROUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF ADS THAT MAKE IT EASY TO SEE AND UNDERSTAND THE BROAD SPECTRUM OF BENEFITS THAT HUNTING AND THE SHOOTING SPORTS CREATE. MULTISTATE CONSERVATION GRANT DOLLARS HAVE BEEN KEY IN HELPING TO ESTABLISH THIS INITIATIVE AND, IMPORTANTLY, THE WORK HAS BEEN INFORMED BY EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND QUALITATIVE TESTING FROM INDUSTRY EXPERTS. PHASE 3-TEST, LAUNCH AND EDUCATE: NATIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN TO INCREASE CULTURAL SUPPORT FOR, AND PARTICIPATE IN, HUNTINGPROJECT ABSTRACTBUILDING OFF OF THE SUCCESS OF M-MSCGP GRANTS AWARDED FOR 2020 AND 2021, A COALITION OF CONSERVATION COMMUNITY PARTNERS - LED BY NWTF - IS DEVELOPING A NATIONAL ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN TO INCREASE CULTURAL SUPPORT FOR, AND EVENTUALLY PARTICIPATION IN, HUNTING AS A LIFESTYLE CHOICE. ONCE COMPLETE, THE CONSERVATION COMMUNITY WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH A VARIETY OF MARKETING ASSETS THAT CAN BE USED IN ONLINE AND OFFLINE CHANNELS. THESE CAMPAIGN ASSETS CAN ONLY BE EFFECTIVE IF THEY ARE PLACED INTO THE VIEW OF THE PUBLIC AND THE BROADER CONSERVATION COMMUNITY IS TRAINED ON THEIR PROPER USAGE.FOR THE CAMPAIGN TO REACH ITS MAXIMUM POTENTIAL, A FULL-SCALE NATIONAL MEDIA BUY WILL BE NEEDED. SUCH AN ENDEAVOR WILL TAKE SIGNIFICANT FUNDING SOURCED FROM MULTIPLE CONTRIBUTORS. TO GET THERE, EACH OF THE FUNDING CONTRIBUTORS WILL NEED TO BELIEVE IN THE PROMISE OF SUCCESS PRIOR TO INVESTING IN THE EFFORT. IN THIS PHASE, WE WILL BUILD THE EVIDENCE THEY NEED BY DEMONSTRATING THE CAMPAIGN'S POTENTIAL VIA MEASUREMENT OF A SMALL-SCALE, NATIONAL LAUNCH. THIS EVIDENCE WILL THEN BE USED TO HELP CONVINCE DONORS, INVESTORS, ADDITIONAL GRANT SELECTION COMMITTEES AND OTHERS THAT THEY CAN CONTRIBUTE WITH CONFIDENCE TO THE COMPLETE FUNDING OF A FULL-SCALE NATIONAL CAMPAIGN.DELIVERABLES, MEASUREMENTS AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES:DELIVERABLE: ORGANIZATIONAL ENGAGEMENT: CONTRIBUTION OF OWNED DIGITAL CONTENT SPACE BY ACTIVE PROJECT PARTNERS.MEASUREMENT: NUMBER OF PARTNERS CONTRIBUTING DIGITAL CONTENT SPACEEXPECTED OUTCOMES: UNIFIED PARTNERSHIP OF INDUSTRY WIDE, LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE EDUCATED, ACTIVELY SUPPORTIVE AND ENERGIZED TO HELP PRODUCE THIS SET OF LEARNINGS AND DATA POINTS.DELIVERABLE: ACTIVITY: OUTREACH TO INDIVIDUALS: 50% AIDED AWARENESS AMONG GENERAL POPULATION, AGES 25-55, WHO HAVE BEEN SERVED THE CAMPAIGN ASSETS.MEASUREMENT: KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS VARY BY PLATFORM AND CAN INCLUDE IMPRESSIONS (REACH), CLICKS, POSTS, RESPONSES, PAGE VIEWS, POSITIVE MENTIONS VIA SOCIAL LISTENING, HASH-TAG USAGE, AND NUMBER OF SHARES. WE WILL TRACK AND EVALUATE EACH AD PLACEMENT WITH THE METRICS AND ANALYTICS PROVIDED BY THE PLATFORM UTILIZED.EXPECTED OUTCOMES: LEARNINGS AND DATA POINTS THAT DEMONSTRATE THE LIKELIHOOD OF SUCCESS FOR A FULL-SCALE NATIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN.

THIS PROJECT SUPPORTS THE PARTNERS FOR FISH AND WILDLIFE ACT WHICH PROVIDES RESTORATION, ENHANCEMENT, AND MANAGEMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE HABITAT THROUGH THE PARTNERS FOR FISH AND WILDLIFE PROGRAM, A PROGRAM THAT WORKS WITH PRIVATE LANDOWNERS TO CONDUCT COST-EFFECTIVE HABITAT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE RESOURCES IN THE UNITED STATES. THE PROJECTS IDENTIFIED IN THIS PROJECT WILL SUPPORT LOCAL ECONOMIES THROUGH HIRING SPECIALIZED AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT AND OPERATORS TO COMPLETE THE SCOPE OF WORK (E.G. REMOVING SEDIMENT WITH EXCAVATORS, BULLDOZERS, BACKHOES AND OTHER EQUIPMENT THAT HAS WASHED IN FROM THE UPLANDS INTO WETLAND BASINS, PLUGGING DITCHES AND BREAKING OLD DRAIN TILE FOR THE PURPOSES OF RESTORING THE HYDROLOGY AND IMPROVE WATER STORAGE IN THE WATERSHED WE WILL ALSO USE TRACTORS AND BROADCAST SEEDERS TO PLANT NATIVE GRASS AND WILDFLOWER SEED IMPORTANT TO GAME AND NON-GAME SPECIES AND IN THE LOCAL PROJECT AREAS). THE EXPECTED DELIVERABLE AND OUTCOMES OF THIS SPECIFIC FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARD IS TO PROVIDE IMPROVED WILDLIFE HABITAT FOR FEDERAL TRUST RESOURCES BY PERFORMING RESTORATION AND ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITY ON A MINIMUM OF 100 ACRES.

THE MICHIGAN STATE CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL WILD TURKEY FEDERATION PROVIDED A $20,000.00 MATCHING GRANT TO THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE MICHIGAN PRIVATE LANDS OFFICE (MIPLO) TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT TO RESTORE GRASSLAND AND WILD TURKEY HABITAT ON PRIVATE LAND THROUGH THE PARTNERS FOR FISH AND WILDLIFE PROGRAM (PFW) IN MICHIGAN. MIPLO WILL PROVIDE 50% OF THE TOTAL EQUIPMENT PURCHASE COSTS ($20,000.00) TO NWTF THROUGH THIS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT AND NWTF WILL MATCH THAT AMOUNT FOR A TOTAL OF $40,000.00. FUNDS WILL BE USED BY NWTF TO PURCHASE FOR THE MICHIGAN PRIVATE LANDS OFFICE A CABBED UTV, TRAILER AND SEEDER TO ALLOW EXISTING STAFF TO COMPLETE MORE HABITAT WORK ON PRIVATE LAND.
